February 9, 201016 yr We have over 3 inches here in Winchester at 5:30 this morning and still coming down. No school today. No school in Fayette Co and even Lexington Catholic called school off, and they hardly never do that. Much to my son's disappointment, Highlands has school today. It's a lot easier for them to have school with it being a city school and no busses (which alleviates a lot of liability concerns for the Superintendant in his decision making).

Weather channel calls for something to continue to fall until 8:00 PM tomorrow. No ball games for the next few days, in all probability.

Except for the teachers that don't live in the city limits and have to brave the road conditions to get there.

My son wanted to discuss the chances of him creating his own "snow day". No dice! Instead he was handed a snow shovel at 6:00 and told to clear the driveway for his mother.

February 9, 201016 yr Funny, that is my daughter's cleaning assignment in her room today. She ain't having fun. My daughter was suppoed to clean her room a month ago. She actually did that, but moved her "junk" into her brother's room who is away at college. My goal for her today is to REALLY clean that mess! She and I alone in the house alllllllllllll day. One of us may not survive! :scared:

I'd rather have my 16 or 17 year old inexperienced driver riding on a bus today than having him/her driving in these conditions?
