Lexington Catholic 61 Clark County 44

Featured Replies

Catholic was in complete control of this game from tip to horn. To much speed and too many weapons Clark can't handle pressure. Peurach was a beast.

Is GRC overrated?

I said they would lose by 12 at home and they lose by 17. Ouch!

Still not a quality win over a top team.

Is GRC overrated?

I don't believe they are the 5th ranked team in the state.

Thanks for the concern.:ylsuper:

Yes, I could see Lex Cath press bothering Clark Co. Sunrise said they had them problems fixed but I take it that evidently they did not. Without good experienced guards it is hard to win in March, and it will take more than Stenzel. Clark could very well be overrated.

When did Stenzel get hurt? What was the score at the time?

It was in the last quarter.

Ankle. We have been so lucky this year and haven't had any major injuries, except for Bopper Stenzel, Robbies brother. His first game was Sunday against Scott Co.

Hope he's alright. That kid can flat play.

A bit surprised by this. Figured it would be a tight game.

Got behind early and couldn't catch up.

Clark County didn't play with the same fire as it did in a 67-64 home-court loss to No. 1 Scott County on Sunday afternoon.

Salsman said Lexington Catholic caught Clark County "on the wrong night. They're a lot better than they played, and I think they'll show that come the post-season."

Junior guard Robbie Stenzel had 19 points for the Cards before hurting his ankle in the closing minutes.

Even though he was disappointed with his team's performance, Humphrey wasn't discouraged by it.

After the game, he reminded his players that three years ago, Lexington Catholic came to town and whipped Clark County 69-45.

"That was when we were in a three-game lull, and no one gave us a chance to bounce back from that," Humphrey said. "But we went on to upset a very good Mason County team and made it to the (quarterfinals) of the state tournament.

"So we've been down this path before."

Lexington Catholic, meanwhile, served notice that it is a serious threat to win a third consecutive 11th Region title.

"I hope this lets everybody know we're good," Salsman said.

Quality win for Lex Cath. This win confirms that they could very well defend their 11th region title. I'll even go as far as to say that this win makes them the favorite to win the 11th.
