So let me get this straight. When Obama refers to two wars, and two tax cuts and a prescription drug plan that he inherited, he is not talking about things he had a hand in. So TARP and the 2009 budget are his, but included in those are fixes for the payment of the two wars two tax cuts and the prescription drug plan.

 

HMMMM, Obama has a large first year budget because he has to pay what the previous owner refused to pay for and then we complain because he has a large budget. I guess he just shouldn't have tried to pay for those things.

Bottom line ... Obama inherited a mess. You can argue all day that he's making it worse, but there is no question he walked into a bad situation.

A major hand? Obama was only a Senator for four of Bush's eight years, and Congress was under Republican control for six of the eight years.

Are Obama and the Democrats blameless? Probably not, but let's not pretend that the Bush administration's policies didn't play a big role in this. The article he linked to seems to take that position.

TARP & the 2009 budget aren't his entirely. But he had a hand in them both, along with his fellow Democrats.

 

And as I said before, we haven't even considered Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac. Neither have we touched the $787 billion behemoth that some have the audacity to call a "recovery" act.

Since he's over 25% through his term with a super majority most of the time, when do you assign greater responsibility to him? What was the deficit when he took office? What is it now? What is it projected to be at the end of this budget cycle? 3 years? 5 years? 10 years?

I know that I am not as well versed as others when it comes to politics and common sense, but can't almost every President blame issues on the person that they replaced?
