My question is did anyone see Bobby Ewing in the church?
I think he was sleeping with Suzanne Pleshette.

So I suppose underneath the Island was Hell and the cork was there to keep it from being unleashed on the world, would that be accurate? Maybe by the time this ending took place there was no Island, maybe it was the end of time and these people were stuck. Either way, how did Desmond have all this figured out?

From the sounds of it, I am glad I DVR'd last nights episode....which is what I usually do anyway with 9PM programs since my wife and I get up early. If I had thought it would be a great finale, I would have stayed up, but with the direction the show has gone, really the past four seasons, I have felt they should have ended it sooner.

After thinking about it more, I really liked the ending. Actually I thought it was perfect.

Better fight scene with Locke.

Were you expecting the Matrix or something? It was visceral and didn't look choreographed. That would be about right if you ask me. Since Jack wasn't a trained fighter and the MIB hadn't actually had to fight anyone in about 2000 years since he could just kill them outright before.

More on MIB.

how the smoke was created adn what were the power lines that help it back

that is just a few and I am sure there are more.

What more do you need to know? He was a tragic character who was trapped and had been for about 2000 years. His own mother screwed him over and his brother essentially trapped him there AND removed his body by throwing him into the heart of the Island.

It was created simply by someone going into the heart like that. It was never supposed to happen, the old guardian even said that it would be a "fate worse than death".

The light was life, death and rebirth. That was explained in "Across the Sea." In uncorking it so to speak it ended the immortality of the MIB and allowed them to kill him. By Jack placing it back in there he sacrificed himself to bring the light back. Essentially becoming a Christ-like figure who needed to sacrifice himself to save everyone else.

What was the alternate universe then?

What was the alternate universe then?

It was their lives if the planed had not crashed, and they had not died and spent their time on the Island, waiting for their souls to be ready to go into Heaven - which they were led into at the end. (At least this is what I think)

A few questions I've heard and thought of.

In the "Oceanic 6" story arc Jack several times talked about his father being alive and still working in the hospital. Was this ever explained?

Wasn't there an arc that had Sun going to the hospital to visit a woman (other then Jin) having a baby? I can't remember the whole scenario about that happening.

The more I have thought about it the more I liked the finale. I like to think that Jack died happy on the island seeing his friends leaving, that Hurley and Ben found a way to get Desmond off of the island and I thought it was OUTSTANDING that they brought Shannon and Boone back to be part of the finale.

I've only watched the 1st episode and I watched the ending of last nights episode. Gathering what I have thus far it looks pretty obvious that they all died. When they died, I'm not sure but when Jack goes into the church one says (hugo I think) "We've been waiting on ya". I don't think they all died on the plane crash, but that would make sense.

Or they all died except for Jack and he was in denial and never accepted it. Who knows, maybe someone from the network will come out and say exactly what happened.

Or they could say nothing and leave it be because that is probably what they wanted, the viewers to have different opinions on how it ended and what it all meant.

I suspect this to be the case, as it generates much more publicity, and leaves options open for future 'projects'

In my opinion, the finale was perfect. It brought all the characterization into a full cycle and we got to see our favorite characters one more time. If you were looking for a finale where all the questions would be answered, then I could see where it would be fairly disappointing, but in some cases, sometimes it is best to leave questions unanswered.

I really love how the show all began with Jack opening his eyes while lying on the island, and it ended with him closing his eyes in just about the same spot, with everyone's favorite dog, Vincent, by his side.

I understand that a lot of people say that everything on the island actually happened, especially considering what Christian said about people dying at different times. However, what is everyone's reaction to the crash scene that was shown during the credits? It seems alot like the original plane crash in the Pilot, minus all of the hectic people running around.

It was their lives if the planed had not crashed, and they had not died and spent their time on the Island, waiting for their souls to be ready to go into Heaven - which they were led into at the end. (At least this is what I think)

More or less. I thought that was rather obvious when Christian said that they were dead. Especially since he also said that time had no meaning there so the events in the "alternate timeline" were in actuality their time in purgatory.

A few thoughts and questions:

1) I was hoping that Mr. Eko would return.

2) Very glad to see Vincent show up again. I loved the way he laid down next to Jack.

3) Anyone have a theory on who was air dropping Darhma supplies long after the Darhma folks were dead? (Season 2?) I would not have made sense for the 'Others' to have done it.

4) Daniel's mom, Ms. Widmore, asked Desmond if he was taking her son with him that night. Does that mean he wasn't ready to 'let go' or wasn't dead?

5) Suprised that RIchard and his wife weren't in the church. That episode was one of the best of the series.

I'm guessing they were all dead, because I'm assuming that Hugo and Ben protected the Island for a long long time just like Jacob did. Some people just choose to remain in purgatory for whatever reason. That's just my take on it.

1) They offered him but he wanted 3X as much as they were offering.

2) Agreed

3) Assume it was just some people who worked with Dharma...it honestly wasn't important at all honestly.

4) I don't think he was ready because he touched Charlotte and didn't remember anything nor did she. Also Eloise liked the idea of having a son and he seemed happy and she wasn't ready to move on yet.

5) I don't really know why...He was different than others there and wasn't really "apart" of them I guess
