May 24, 201016 yr I think I am finally understanding it but no doubt I am going to watch it again tomorrow.
May 24, 201016 yr If they all died in the plane crash, I get to go tell my buddy "told you so" tomorrow. I told him 6 years ago they were all dead. The moment that Christian showed up that's what I thought. I don't think so. Remember at the end Jack's father said that they were all dead but they had died at different times. They all came together because they needed Jack to guide them just like they did on the island.
May 24, 201016 yr The "Flash Sideways" wasn't that at all. It was more of a flash WAY forwards. A flash to a time when they all were dead and hadn't accepted it to move on yet. Christian said that time had no meaning there. As such the order and time at which everyone died wasn't relevant. They weren't always dead. Everything that happened on the Island happened. The bomb didn't reset or change anything. It was what always happened in the timeline. It WAS the incident that was mentioned in the Swan's orientation video. That is why it was covered in concrete like a reactor that had gone through meltdown(as described by Sayiid in Season 2). The flashes in this season were flashes to I guess you could call it purgatory. A holding place until their souls were ready to move on. In the case of most of these people they had to realize it and let go before they could move on. That is what Desmond was trying to do and why he said that Ana Lucia was "not ready." There are some questions I still have, but the big stuff is not among them. I agree. The big question I have left is if the island was real how did it heal people or was Locke the MIB from the outset?
May 24, 201016 yr OK, I'll start trying to buy into that idea. But what about Penny and Aaron? Why were they in the church? They were not in the plane when it crashed and on the island during the explosion.
May 24, 201016 yr I agree. The big question I have left is if the island was real how did it heal people or was Locke the MIB from the outset? That was part of the "heart" of the Island. The old guardian said that it was "life, death and rebirth" and if that is the case then it isn't too hard to see how it could also heal.

They were not in the plane when it crashed and on the island during the explosion. To the bolded, huh? The reason Penny was there is because she was with Desmond. Aaron? I can only assume that because Claire appeared as she did on the Island that it is the only way for some people to make the connection and move on. Like Charlie and Kate.
May 24, 201016 yr The ABSOLUTE WORST episode of the series. The worst finale I have ever seen of any show. Could have been a lot better.
May 24, 201016 yr The ABSOLUTE WORST episode of the series. The worst finale I have ever seen of any show. Could have been a lot better. I have posed this question elsewhere. How would it have been better? How else could they have done it and still made it connect? Anyone that thought they would all be answered was foolish, at best. A good story teller never answers everything, there needs to be room for interpretation and imagination.
May 24, 201016 yr So, what happened to the Island and who's protecting it now? After Hurley? Who knows. It is someone who wasn't among the characters we know since most of them are dead.
May 24, 201016 yr Better fight scene with Locke. More on MIB. how the smoke was created adn what were the power lines that help it back that is just a few and I am sure there are more.
May 24, 201016 yr So, what happened to the Island and who's protecting it now? Hurley and Ben. Remember at the end Hurley told Ben that he had been a good number 2. I would assume that before he died Hurley found someone else to protect the island.
May 24, 201016 yr Hurley and Ben. Remember at the end Hurley told Ben that he had been a good number 2. I would assume that before he died Hurley found someone else to protect the island. Oh okay, I thought he said he would have made a good number 2, nevermind. Makes sense.
May 24, 201016 yr Maybe Ben was still alive since he did not go into the church with the rest of the people and so maybe Ben is the protector of the island. I don't know if the side world was all in Jack's head or if they all were a part of it. Either way it was not a "real" world. When you died on the island you were dead. There are still a lot of questions maybe one day the producers and writers will say what they really meant by all of it or their ideas.

My question is did anyone see Bobbie Ewing in the church?
