January 21, 201016 yr Ok, I am totally lost on this subject. If a player played a Varsity sport for "public county school A" in "county school district 1" and then transferred the next season to "public county school B" in the same "county school district 1" to play the same sport, is this person in question eligible to participate for "public county school B" without sitting out?
January 21, 201016 yr If they provide a bonified change of address for reasons other than athletic purposes, then they can become eligible.
January 21, 201016 yr Author So then, what if they don't move but the schools give the release. If it's in the same county school district that has multiple high schools, does the "sitting out" rule apply?

January 21, 201016 yr If they provide a bonified change of address for reasons other than athletic purposes, then they can become eligible. There are other exceptions to By Law 6 than a permanent bona fide change in residence for what it's worth.
January 28, 201016 yr What rules were appplied to make all of the Rose Hill transfers eligible this year?
January 28, 201016 yr What rules were appplied to make all of the Rose Hill transfers eligible this year? To or from Rose Hill ?
January 28, 201016 yr What rules were appplied to make all of the Rose Hill transfers eligible this year? The same rules that every one else follows.
January 28, 201016 yr The same rules that every one else follows. So you're saying all of the Rose Hill players that transferred out to other schools had legit change of addresses?
February 2, 201016 yr What about transferring from County "A" into a public school in county "B"? The basic rule is that the student is ineligible until KHSAA rules you are eligible after any transfer between schools. First paragraph of bylaw 6. http://www.khsaa.org/handbook/bylaws/bylaw6.pdf
February 20, 201016 yr You would be speaking of the type of statement Euton's father made prior to their move to central KY and Dakota's emergence at Scott Co?
March 22, 201016 yr Does anyone know if there is any such thing as a release that the sending school can sign. I have been told by a former AD that there was but when I approached the current AD at the sending school he said he had never heard of such a thing.

Whether the former or "sending" school signs a release doesn't have any impact on the KHSAA rules. If a sending school signs a release, but one of the exceptions to the general rule of ineligibility for one year upon a transfer (if any varsity sport was played at the sending school) is not met, then the kid remains ineligible for one year.
