What D-lineman would Elliot have replaced ?

Likely the one that weighed a buck 50.

Mike Mitchell played Safety at Ohio University and was drafted as a safety by the Raiders.

Division I CB is a rare thing in NKY.

Traditions magazine had a 40 time of 4.43 for Mitchell as a Raider ! (FYI)

Likely the one that weighed a buck 50.

Hardly. Sorry, but there wasn't a player on HHS D line that would have taken the buck 50's place. A kid that could hold his ground against anyone. Oh, just ask anyone. Maybe even see if Mr. Elliott met him once or twice this past year.

A drive that comes to mind would be the opening drive Ryle had on H in their first game. I don't want to knock the kid, but ISO was ran to his inside shoulder several times. Saying Elliot would not have started this year for Highlands isn't in the realm of reality.

Look I'm sure he's fast. But a TRUE, laser-timed 4.4? No way. You are talking about a very elite time there. Go look at the times of the top players in college and NFL. He just isn't at that level and it's a disservice to him to lay such expectations out there for him.

High school 40 times are always inflated. First of all, they aren't truly accurate because they are done by hand. Secondly, every decent athlete claims to run a "4.6" (they' don't), so it makes the truly fast kids have to inflate their times. 4.4 is just unrealistic for the most part. Same for baseball. A few high school kids might throw in the 80's, but since every dad of every halfway decent player claims his kid throws "mid-80's", it forces the real 80 mph pitchers to claim they throw "high 80's to 90's."

What you need to understand is I said in the 4.4's. Again.... I did NOT say 4.4 flat. Most of the big schools now have 40 requirements for recruiting certain positions. I said... IF he can get in the 4.4's he could get some nice offers. Bardo, who has been clocked in the 4.5's got an offer from Air Force a competive program lately or so it seems. Bruns runs track and has two years to work on his 40 and overall development. He has the same raw fundamentals Mitchell had his senior year and he's only a JR to be. I hope now you understand all of this.

I was wondering how long it was going to take for the Highlands fans to jack this thread?

I think we have reached a good ending point.
