Ultimately, he said that his point was that Kentucky filled the need for an inside presence without relying solely on one guy, ala Bill Russell. I haven't crunched all of the numbers, but it wouldn't surprise me if Cousins was the most efficient player in the country, in terms of production per minutes played. The guy is a beast and has propelled himself into a top 5 draft pick, IMO.

I would be surprised if Cousins was a lottery pick this coming draft, he is improving, although he still has a long ways to go to be NBA ready. He is a great rebounder and could contribute that way, but he really does not have any real low post moves yet and would struggle to score at this time.

Ed Davis (UNC); John Henson (UNC); Derrick Favors (Ga Tech); Xavier Henry (Kansas); John Wall (Kentucky); Aminu (Ga Tech); Wesley Johnson (Syracuse); and maybe a few foreigners are the only people I can envision being drafted above Cousins. He's relatively unathletic, but he's so big, strong, and young. He has great hands and puts up huge numbers.

He named a few of them. Tipton said UK doesn't have that, but went on to give the stats for our two big guys. I did not see that comment as throwing stones. Tipton is talking about some of the greatest teams with possibly the 2 greatest college basketball players of all time. How many college baskteball teams have won national titles without players the caliber of Bill Walton & Lew Alcindor? It would be a long list. I can't think of a team in my lifetime with a big man as dominant as those 2.

I can't think of a team in my lifetime with a big man as dominant as those 2. :thumb: What you said is exactly what I'm thinking. I really don't know of a trio the last few years that I like better than Wall, Cousins and Patterson. Maybe it's just because I'm a UK guy, but those 3 together are just sick IMO.

Cousins athleticism at his size is IMPRESSIVE! to say the least. I can not remember another big man who gets as many steals and diving to come up with loose balls. Very good quickness and agility, especially for his size.

What was Cal thinking? :sssh: :lol: Big Cuz is quickly becoming my favorite Cat. I'm not used to seeing a 6'11" guy diving on the floor after loose balls and getting steals out away from the paint. I really like his spirit.
