When it looks like the kid weighs 160 soaken wet...you're tiny lol.

 

I honestly don't know how much he weighs, but when I said tiny, I am referring to his thickness. Not sure how he'd survive the GLVC being that small.

I've never seen the kid play, but he is tiny. I couldn't imagine him going at it during practice with the likes of former guards for the Norse...Stowers, Morton, Teague. I don't know how he'd survive.

 

But, like I said, I've never seen him play. Best of luck to him and his career with the Norse.

 

Sorrell was extremely thin as well coming out of high school. One redshirt year later he's much stronger and getting big minutes.

Yeah, some guys just have those bodies where they can't put on weight and that picture that was posted makes this kid look like one of those guys.

 

Either way, best of luck to him. Hope he finds some PT amongt the typically D-1 transfers that Bezold is able to find.

Sorrell was a lot better than Jolly. Sorrell was almost unguardable by anyone not named Arrez. I wish the kid the best though.

Congrats to Jolly. He's a nice player. Question though. Did he sign a full scholarship or a letter of intent to walk on? Just for clarification. Either way - congratulations.

 

I heard redshirt walk-on with an opportunity at a scholarship later on. Nonetheless, at least he has been given a shot.

Red-shirt walk on makes much more sense to me. NKU can't lose in that scenario.

The title thread was misleading, making it seem that they were offering a full ride and education paid for the next four years.

I saw Brady play a lot this summer and he has improved tremendously in the last two years. He is a long 6'4, has good hops and range, and can take the ball to the rim when needed. Yes, he will need to improve his strength but he's a late bloomer with a nice upside. I wish him well and will enjoy seeing his progress after the redshirt yr.

First congrats to Brady on getting an opportunity to fulfill a dream!! A great kid who will give his best to make it work, and hopefully will prove many (myself included) wrong!!

 

My question for NKU would be if you're working to regain a perennial top 25 position in D-2, and chasing a good NKY kid, are you even chasing the best in his district, much less the area? O'Conner--Scott (longer and maybe more athletic)? Reiger--BBHS (far better all around player with the same frame, only more developed)? Smith--Scott (Junior guard, maybe next year)? Not even beginning to touch the 9th region top players?

 

Unless this is a walk-on opportunity with no promises, I don't see the reasoning for Bezold with so many better options in his own back yard?? Again, best of luck to Brady, and no disrespect intended!!

I hear that the same no-liability walk-on offer has gone out to other KY players. Some kids aren't interested in taking that chance unless they really want to go to that school anyway.

 

I agree there are several other NKY players who NKU should also be looking at. Nothing against Mr. Jolly, but the 9th region has some awfully good local players too that are still uncommitted.

I hear the same thing because they are trying to get the Jonhson kid from Holmes and I think that will be on a full scholarship.

I would agree with the signing of Johnson. He is a definitely athletic enough to play for the Norse.

Congratulations and good luck. There are so many other variables to consider other than size. I believe the PG for the 2009 D2 national champion Findlay Oilers is only 5'9" tall and probably weighs 170lbs. :thumb:

I agree, an invitation to walk on and a scholarship are two very different situations. I wish him luck in making the team and improving his game. What a great opportunity for this young man.

Hey wait a minute. We (Cov. Cath.) didn't have anyone named Arrez on our team and we held Sorrell to 31 in our victory over Holy Cross in the '08 District Semi-Finals.
