What does the Ohio State Rose Bowl victory do for its image?

Does this win over Oregon do for the image of the Buckeyes in the eyes of the national media and non Ohio State fans in general?

It did absolutely nothing for me.

I don't think it changes the perception at all. They are already considered an annual contender and they will be next year as well.

Beating a PAC10 team IMO doesn't carry a lot of weight since they are not known for their D. The only way their perception changes is if and when they beat the top SEC teams.

I root for Ohio State so I'm a little biased, but I think it will help take away some of the negative press they have gotten the last couple of years. More importantly I think it will help the players psyche.

It doesn't do anything for me. Oregon is good, but they're not an elite team.

Until someone proves otherwise the BCS championship goes through the SEC. If Alabama wins the SEC will have taken 6 of the 12 total BCS title games and 5 of the last 7.

As a Buckeye guy it is great to see the new wave of recruits are making their impact felt. This team has added speed while not giving up much size and strength. There is a lot more speed still coming in. Hard to believe TP will only be a Jr next year, I really think he is learning and starting to hone his skills. Buckeyes will have 4 legit 1,000 rushers next year. I hope some of the key guys on defense stick around another year. I still believe a new OC is very possible so who knows how much the next guy will unleash TP. I think this game really helped with recruiting a few big name OH QB's were watching I know that. Really looking forward to the Miami FL game 9/11/10 Also, hard to believe Oregon went from top 5 to around 20 overnight. Guess our D was that good.

Oregon was never anywhere near the top 5 in my mind.

The best offense in the country according to most.

I think that was the thought until the bowl games showed that the PAC10 defenses are below par.

No way Oregon is top 5

So all of our analyst were wrong? :sssh:

Of course they were wrong noway could a big ten team go on the road and beat a good team.

Yeah it was me and like CCC only who voted for OSU in the bowl bonanza I knew I would gain ground. Was hoping i'd be the only one but I swayed my man CCC.

I don't think OSU needs that much of a boost. I get the feeling the national media is just waiting for the Bucks to get going, so they can jump on the bandwagon, again.
