I think 2010 will be there best chance of getting back to the big game.

I am not a Buckeye hater by any means, but I think they need to beat an SEC school in a meaningful game to get over the hump perception wise. All the more reason for a playoff. BTW, I do think Prior grew up a bit by the end of the season, which bodes well for next year.

Sure, but the Big 11 gets it worse for how they have performed in the Rose Bowl against USC and in the title game against the SEC lately. Many Big 11'ers were very vocal about wanting to see a Michigan/OSU rematch for the title because they were "undoubtedly" the best two teams in the country. Both teams proceeded to look like high school teams against USC and Florida. Ohio State has been able to take advantage of a mediocre conference and sneak into the title game and then they get killed. That is why the Big 11 has such a poor reputation lately.

Oregon is the worst team the Pac 10 has thrown at the Rose Bowl in awhile and Ohio State beat them, congrats. I picked Ohio State to win, their D is very good. Ohio State was right in that second tier of teams this year. It's funny how after the Purdue loss everyone wanted the Vest out and Pryor moved to WR, now they are going to win it all next year :lol: :ohbrother:

As for the question of the thread, until OSU wins a BCS bowl against an SEC team I don't think their credibility on the National level will be salvaged. Fortunately for Buckeye fans, I think next years team MAY be able to do it.

Oh yeah, I agree with that as well. Oregon's defense prevents them from being an Elite team IMO. Top rate offense, pee-wee level defense.
