January 2, 201016 yr Wow..I'm sure glad Texas didn't lose to Nebraska. The National title game game would have been terrible if it had been UC vs Bama. Bama would be up comfortably, but not sure it would have been this bad. Bama would have shortened the game with their run game. Bama also doesn't defend the pass as well as Florida.
January 2, 201016 yr Big East (insert ACC/Big 10/Pac-10/Big 12) spread offensive teams vs. elite SEC defenses equals a mismatch every time IMO. There is a reason only 2 or 3 teams in the SEC run the spread. You do get alot of 1 on 1's, but in most cases the guys UF has on defense are better individually than what UC can offer. Florida runs the spread.

Florida beat Ohio St really bad like this a few years ago in the NC so I don't see why people are making such a big deal about how bad they're beating UC. Florida is simply that good. They might be ranked 5th in the country but they are still one of the top 2 teams in the country and would beat Texas IMO.
January 2, 201016 yr UC should drop out of the top 10 fall to around 12-15 range. Why? Because they're losing to one of the best teams in the country? :ohbrother: UC might not be good enough to play with someone like Florida, Bama, or Texas but they could play with and beat anyone else in the top 10, IMO. Those are the only three "dominant" teams this year. Using your thinking, Florida should drop out of the top 10 too considering the way Bama beat them. :sssh:
January 2, 201016 yr Not sure what the UC players have on their arms but Tebow has. Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

January 2, 201016 yr Wow..I'm sure glad Texas didn't lose to Nebraska. The National title game game would have been terrible if it had been UC vs Bama. Many of the BCS experts said that a Nebraska win over Texas would have shifted the numbers to where TCU likely would have passed Cincinnati. Don't ask how because I don't know, but that's what I heard and read.

January 2, 201016 yr I nearly forgot how horrible Fox's BCS coverage is. Glad we get to see the bands again this year. The good news is this is the last year for FOX and the BCS and also they don't have the national title game this season.
January 2, 201016 yr Bama would be up comfortably, but not sure it would have been this bad. Bama would have shortened the game with their run game. Bama also doesn't defend the pass as well as Florida. Doesn't Bama have as many or more interceptions than UF this season? They get after the passer alot worse I think in 3rd and long. Alabama probably forces a couple of turnovers in the first half if they play UC, UF hasn't forced any I don't believe. Florida runs the spread. I said outside of a few teams. Also, UF unlike most other schools selects rather than recruits. When you have two track stars at HB, a bulldozer at QB who can actually pass with time, one of the most athletic and all around TE's in the game, and speed in the WR core you can do what you want. UF could run the double wing and score points and move the ball, UC probably could not do that. Also, UF is not a pass happpy team like UC. Sure UF runs the spread, but they run similar stuff to the power games of other "traditional" offenses around the country. With a running QB it makes more sense to spread it out IMO, Tony Pike is far from that. Dropping back to pass 3 out of 4 plays is a bad idea, when you have to deal with Mt. Cody on the defensive line, McClain at LB, and Arenas in the secondary. Hard to consistently block (we've seen this tonite haven't we?), hard to get open, and bad passes end up incomplete or worse where as in other leagues a bad pass can be adjusted to and possibly caught (such as Tate/Floyd adjusting to Clausen on a deep ball).

Anytime you are ranked that high, games shouldn't get out of hand like this one, period. Right around 10 sounds right for UC.
January 2, 201016 yr UC is ranked 4th in the entire country though, not 4th in their own division (SEC East) in their conference like UK. UK finished 5th in the SEC East this year.
