I'll say 11. Teams like Miami, Houston, LSU, and Georgia Tech/Iowa losing helps their cause IMO.

UC is a passing team though. UF, Oregon, Michigan, WVU are spread running teams. UC is not a balanced attack, or at least they weren't early in the game IMO. Now obviously they have to pass, but it's just what they do.

About time they called something on Florida...they've jawing after every hit and nothing called.

A lot of jawing both ways. #58 for UC has been the worse that I have seen on either side...or at least up there with Spikes.

Florida's D is very good and their secondary is playing well, but he has to hit the open receivers on designed plays like that.

UC has not established any sort of run game to slow down UF pressure. UF can generate pressure with 3-4 guys. You have to be able to run the ball some to beat Florida. UC's spread is more of a Mumme/Leach spread more predicated on the pass to set up the run. That is just me. UF uses formations and play action to move the defense.

 

Hard to believe Florida lost to Alabama 32-13 and gave up 490 yards.

Bama can run the ball and are just as big and physical.

The talent disparity is wide in this one. Bama and Florida, not so much.

 

The Florida announcers and commentators are saying this is the best game they have played all year. All are surprised. Especially the way the offense is playing.

Tebow may be getting healthy...after he got knocked loopy he was not the same for a while. Then again UC's defense is not that good.

 

Big East (insert ACC/Big 10/Pac-10/Big 12) spread offensive teams vs. elite SEC defenses equals a mismatch every time IMO. There is a reason only 2 or 3 teams in the SEC run the spread. You do get alot of 1 on 1's, but in most cases the guys UF has on defense are better individually than what UC can offer.

The supposed #3 team in the country should not be taking this kind of thrashing regardless of who the opponent is. Anytime you are ranked that high, games shouldn't get out of hand like this one, period. Right around 10 sounds right for UC.

 

As much as I am pulling for UC, I agree with the reasoning of your first statement. Where UC should end up in the rankings is up for grabs.

I don't know where UC's ranking should be. They have come a long way and won some very big games in the Big East. But outside of the Big East there last 3 marquee opponents have been Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Florida. It's a different landscape. UC is still a top 10-20 program.

^Tebow should play the whole game IMO. He's earned it. Brantley's time will come. It's not every day that it's the best player in school history's last game.

This is very reminiscent of the beating that Georgia put on Hawaii a few years ago in the Sugar Bowl. One upstart that was clearly overmatched.

IMO this should end the OSU-UC debate. As of today, OSU is much better IMO.
