Do a lot of members use the "New Posts" feature on BGP? As a mod it is a life saver, but I was curious as to how many people use it?

It took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about.

 

I don't use it frequently, but I've used it from time to time. I like to browse the forums more than search for the new posts. The new posts are in the darker blue, so those catch my attention more.

How does one use said feature?

At the top of the page where all the subject headings are, click on "New Posts". In chronological order, posts on BGP will be displayed. If you view a lot of the forums, it is an awesome feature.

It's the first button that I hit every time I visit BGP.

It's this mod's bread and butter.

Me either and I was a mod for a long time. Would have been a lifesaver. I generally just check the forums and start from the dark blue working my way up. Now that I'm not a mod I also skip over the threads that don't look very interesting.

Same here. I would miss out on a lot if I didn't use it.

When I first log on to BGP after an extended break, say 12+ hours or more, I will go to individual forums. But after that, I only use the New Posts feature. If you go through multiple forums, I highly recommend it. It is sort of like when I discovered predictive text on my old cell phone. I could not believe I went so long without using it.
