December 9, 200916 yr The Edsall leaks coming out and his name has been in the background seems like some negotiating going on between ND and Kelly. I have heard that Kelly has asked for something and maybe ND is not ready to give him, ie lowering academic stuff. They in turn start running the Edsall stuff to put a little pressure on Kelly. I know that Kelly's rant about sources after the Pitt game has irked a few people because Kelly is the source on some of this stuff leaking out, and the reporters know it, and one in particular does. When you hear the phrase, "a source close to Kelly" is Brian Kelly himself. All in all a lot of coachspeak....

Smart move by ND from a business stand point... telling BK if you don't want it we know a guy who probably does. I want to see what tomorrow holds. BK is supposed to have some type of banquet with UC, maybe GT can confirm and possibly be in attendance?

December 10, 200916 yr Edsall would be a bad hire IMO. I wouldn't call it a bad hire...but Kelly would be better.

December 10, 200916 yr This stuff brings back the time we hired Coach Saban. And everybody was worried about those poor pro guys not having a coach...so what happens to the poor non Pro players at UC/UConn/Gators/ETC?
