December 6, 200916 yr I haven't been tuned into the national scene like usual today, so I have no clue what has been said where about the search. That said, I have been told by a few sources on the drive home from Pittsburgh that the focus is right now Randy Edsall, and that the rumors swirling that they could hire a coach as soon as tomorrow were centered there. As for BK he genuinely WANTS to stay at UC. Does that mean he without a doubt will? No. If ND calls he will listen like he has after each of the last two seasons and like anyone with a brain reevaluate the situation from there. He's a very smart man, and is going to use the system to examine both his worth, and the give and take with UC that is needed to continue building the program. So far the latter has been his decision and after standing next to the new UC President on the field in the freezing cold and snow this afternoon the message that the entire school is behind him and willing to do what it takes to get it done. Will an absurd amount of money thrown his way change that? We'll find out soon enough...

Edsall is very much a D first coach. Check out his background, and what he has done with mostly no name recruits while bringing UCONN into D1 football. I question if he could win right away like is "required" at ND, but long term he would be a very, very good hire. The man is all class, his kids play their tails off for him and he is a very good game coach...
December 6, 200916 yr I'm pretty sure I heard a quote from BK after today's game that he was not going to take the Notre Dame job. That was the first time I had actually say he wasn't going to take the job.

Stoops (Continuously saying he isn't leaving, not even sure if he can at this point with how many times he has said he isn't and still have anyone trust him) 2.
