The QB wanted to come to St.X to play football but wouldnt be able to because of playing Varsity as a Soph, he would have to sit out his Senior year.

 

This was my understanding too. I though if you played one varsity play you had to sit out a year. How good would St. X be if he could've of transferred; another Pat White / Steve Slaton combo for sure. Charlie has a heck of a recruit!

 

Since i didn't get a chance to see Brohm as QB this year, is he a pocket passer, scrambler, runner?

 

On the Trinity side someone asked about Jackson Noe, who started three games this year at QB. They moved him to wide receiver. My guess it is between Ryan Frederick (Sr) and Mitch Cunningham (Jr). Mitch, a soph, had an all world freshman year, but broke his thumb during the end of the summer, fell behind, and hardly played JV. His best strength is his down the field vision, which unfortunately was Brad's biggest weakness. I saw both Freshman QB's play and they are truly outstanding so we will have to see how it will plays out. Not to mention the possible Army tranf............

 

Trinity will be young again needing some help from the incoming sophomore class since the next year's Sr class is so small in numbers. Four sophomores and one freshman started this year for Trinity which by contrast, I believe only 3 sophomores made the St. X varsity team. That shows you how loaded St. X is currently. Trinity, will return 11 starters which is encouraging.

Brohm is similar to Buehner...more dangerous with his feet, but more of a more power runner than a cut and juke type.

I think the X policy is not to accept Senior transfers except in out of town situations.

Mattingly I think separated his shoulder early in the season...but he's good.

I thought Luke Brohm made impressive strides when he stared the last two regular season and first two playoff games when Brian Buehner was injured. He had a great command of the offense and threw several strikes for touchdowns. His improvement and arm strength were very encouraging for next season.

 

I agee and with McMurry,Hayden in the backfield and Beech and Hall on defense the Tigers will have some very talented skill players to build a team around.

Don't forget about Cornelius Jackson and John Allen, the Tigers have a very good chance to repeat.

We're going to have to develop more OLs and DLs, plus I think we are marginal at best at QB for 2010.

OL will be a huge question mark next year. Basically the entire starting OL unit graduates. Many, if not all, of the second team OL's this year were seniors. Bubba Brutcher will be solid at one DE, Corn Jackson will be solid at DT. Some of the DL's may need to go both ways. Polston or Heuke may rotate at the other DE spot. Linebackers and secondary will be very strong with Beach, Allen, Hall, Wilson, Wesley and Purdie returning.
