I agree and I know we will both get blasted but I did not see him do much during the game either. He spent most of the time screaming at the officals or standing in the sun while the team was on the other end playing. Maybe he was getting a far away look at the secondary?

It makes me wonder how much coaching he does during practice. Also, during timeouts, I think I saw him within 2-3 feet of the huddle once or twice, but never motivating or coaching. Once again, not trying to be negative, just wondering if he is more of a figure head or actually does coach during practice?

No reason to "blast".

 

At 28-1 over the past two seasons, he can stand in the sun all he wants.

 

Seriously, coach French is very involved with the team during the practices. You'd just have to see them to realize that I suppose. His coaching staff is very competent and handles much of the in-game instruction.

I am shocked that I am reading this. In 2 years since Coach French took over, he has lost 1 game and won a state title. THAT is restoring that Rebel pride. The man can obviously coach and is the one held responsible for wins/losses. So far, ... so good.

 

A good leader surrounds himself with the right people to help get the job done. Obviously, he can pick em!

 

As far as retirement, now that he has that state title, I would assume that he would be hungry for another. Seems like he is enjoying himself so let him coach as long as he wants! As long as Boyle County is winning, don't think you will hear any complaints from there!

He does that a lot. I know several officials that cannot stand him. However, they all agree that the man wins where ever he goes and his players respect him. That is what really matters.

I may be wrong, but I believe it is pretty much the same coaching staff that was with Chuck Smith and Chris Pardue.

Good coaches, coach their coaches and then let them do their job. I believe Coach French does a good job with this. Coach Pardue was a great coach, but he was coaching with his "equals". Sometimes that is hard to do.

 

It looked like Boyle had more players out this year than ever before. I believe that Coach French has really improved the culture of the team and program which has led to success as well.

Mason was a junior on that 5-7 team in '07.

 

Rees was a sophomore.

 

Jordan Aumiller was a junior and Grant a Sophomore.

No the talent was still there......just some was walking the hallways. French has made it fun and everyone wants to be a part of it now. 2007 Boyle was 1-6 to start the season and played the State Champs to a 18-14 loss. We had the talent at the school all along. French is the difference.
