French is a great coach but his work at Boyle will not be really revealed until a year or two, alot of times a coach comes into to team that has been held to the fire like Boyle during Pardue (meaning they were from a successful team that had been driven hard) and they start losing a little everyone treats them and the coach like misfits, that coach leaves and a new coach comes in and makes it all fun again.... Now lets wait 2 years when French has only French coaced players and then bring this thread up...Until then he is a genious and its bonafide!

I don't doubt French has done a great job. But the schedule Boyle played Pardue's last 2 years was extremely difficult. French inherited a good deal of talent and a much easier schedule.

 

He won a state title over an undefeated Lone Oak team. Apparently their schedule was challenging enough to have them ready to win another state title.

Obviously you don't know anything about Larry French prior to his coming to Boyle. If you did, you wouldn't have to "wait" on anything to see about his coaching ability. To those of us who saw either close up or from afar what he did at Mercer, Meade and Lincoln - we don't have to wait. :sssh:
