Back to the game, I thought Pulaski had some good skill players, but as most thought, they were unprepared for the speed of the birds!

He won the (old) 4A title with Nelson County in 1996, beating Chris Redman and Male enroute. Nearly had them in again in 1997 and again in 2000. Left to coach a start-up program at John Hardin in I want to say 2004 season. In 2006, in the regional title game against Trinity (or was it St. X?), he decided to go for 2 to win the game rather than kick an XP to tie on the final play of the game, and the receiver dropped the pass.

 

He has one of the top overall records in the state the past 4 or 5 seasons, but has had trouble getting past Bowling Green in the semis. Now he has.

I was impressed that the PC quarterback came out to the bench before his team came out for the second half. He could of easily stayed in the locker room with his team down. I wish the young man a speedy recovery.

Haven't you heard, Highlands is on the easy side of the brackets. Has nothing to do with how good they are.

 

No matter how good you are, it always takes a little luck to win champion ships. ( Either luck of the draw, hpme field advantage, or playing teams that they match up with well.

Why don't they (HHS) move up a class so they can play Trinty or X to win a State Championship? Not trying to start something but it is obvious that they are the best 5-A team and probably the best team in the state regardless of class.

 

They are actually playing up TWO classes already.

For the "Highlands Haters" get better or go to the house.

 

Highlands is the gold standard for football in the state of Kentucky, they play hard and play with intensity, up by a TD or 5 TDs. Nobody gives them what they have they earn it on the field. Yeah sure I would love to have seen someone beat them this year but that does not take away from my respect of their team and program.

 

From the dealings I have had with their fains they are also a class bunch, and although they may not have had great support this week I suspect that they will have as many fans as any other school next week.

That is kind of what I am getting at with my posts. Its not to diminish the road to BG for the Birds. I know they are a machine and they can beat very good teams but I just find it somewhat boring to see them mow through teams who actually have to travel from so far away.
