Since it was the first time that PC has ever been in a state semi final game, the fun is in the journey.

 

Is it fun to lose that bad? Certainly not. Would you prefer that they don't show up to support the team? Then posters would rip them for having no faith and not supporting their team.

Allowed both teams to play some extra players without fear of young kids giving up quick TDs, turning the ball over and considering putting the starters back in.

Unless the rules are different for the playoffs, I was told by an official that once the point level reaches running clock status it remains running clock regardless, even if the losing team would come back and win.

So, what was up with Highlands' webcast? I don't think it was working last night.

I believe that is the case. I was told that it remains running in the second half once a 45 point difference is made.

I hope that PC's QB is ok as well.

 

On a lighter note, why on God's green earth did the coach, or whoever it was on PC's sideline, talk trash to Collinsworth before the opening kick-off??? My Dad, who has not seen a Highlands game all year and couldn't name a kid on the team said, "Why's he yelling at that kid? If I was that kid, I would be peeved." I told my Dad that that was Collinsworth, and that that coach just made a huge mistake. Three plays later he takes it 70+ yards. I understand not wanting to be intimidated, but an adult talking trash to a 17or 18 year old is ridiculous.

So, what was up with Highlands' webcast? I don't think it was working last night.

 

Very disappointed in the fact that the Web cast did not go off live last nite. For a full week this live cast had been planned and talked about throughout the community and the schoold district but unfortunately because of some internal glitch the Webcast was not able to go live apparently because Highlands does not have the technical support nor the skills to assist and advise the Webcast crew. The crew has been working hard for three weeks now behind the scenes preparing for the big game and NOTHING. A few hours before kickoff the crew was basically told they were on their own with getting live. These guys are not technical gurus or computer specialists they are common guys that sell things like real estate, salad dressings and clean swimming pools for a living and they just simply want to bring the Birds live to you. Its not that the district doesnt have the tools, equipment or the technology but simply not the personnel or support to utilize perhaps some of the best equipment money can buy. This is a real concern to me not just as a Football fan but as a tax paying, private funding donor citizen that our money is sitting dormant and not being used to the fullest extent. Our Superintentent of Schools pushed big for this type of technology in our schools and we gave it to him. Now, its time to use it and the problem is there apparently isnt anyone who knows how to drive the bus. These guys were willing to step up to the plate and bring Highlands Football live for all those not fortunate enough to attend the games, such as the elderly, sick and those relocated Highlands fans not able to attend the game and someone other than the Volunteers just simply did not perform their duties and dropped the ball. Highlands Football is the best in the state of KY and I would like to think that with a little effort and commitment the District can make the Webcast part of that Tradition on Friday nites and give those Highlands faithful what they want. I gotta agree with Q. The kids don't go because they know the games will be blowouts. Highlands has never lost a 5A game and probably never will. A running clock in a state semi final game is..... well, I'm not sure what to say about that... This 6 class thing is a disaster

6 classes is ridiculous. But winning a blowout is definitely better than the alternative. Not going to a game because you think it is going to be a blowout is definitely a sign of arrogance. Like I said before, maybe the other teams just need to get better.

Why is that arrogant? Kids have a lot of options nowadays, and I'm sorry but 45-0 and a running clock in the game doesn't do it for them. Just a fact. I'm not sure the kids are arrogant, as they probably have no opinion on the game one way or another.

This year's team may be unbeatable but HHS is not doing this every year. Look at last year's playoffs ... round 1 HHS 28 Bryan Station 22 in a game HHS was lucky to win; HHS 35 Johnson Central 21; and it was 21 - 15 in the 4th quarter of the title game. In 2005 and 2006 they didn't even make it to the state semifinals. Give credit to the current seniors of HHS. There is some great talent there that has made them virtually unbeatable but they will graduate this year. So keep it in perspective. HHS has been beat many times in the past and they will be beat many times in the future. It is up to their opponents to step up to the challenge because they are beatable (but not this year).

I like how HHS close games get mentioned. "They almost lost" :lol: And you are proving the point for anyone against 6 classes. The losses in 05 and 06 were in 3A when there were only 4 classes. Most of those teams are in 4A now. Yeah Highlands will lose a again sometime somewhere to a team in there class. Not in 5A though. Perhaps when they go back to 4A:thumb:
