O, and as long as Bob is listed as the head coach, which he is, he should get all those wins.

How important are the wins to coach Schneider?

Coach Schneider has had a hand in making more successful men than any coach in NKY. He is a great role model, and like I've said a million times, while I don't always agree with him on things, I admire his conviction to do what he feels is right and not compromise that.

I think it's mandatory to start this thread at the end of each season...

I think that this is very pertinent now seeing as Coach Schneider has never had any serious health issues like he does right now. Read the article, then be sarcastic.

Just a little age comparison Coach Schneider and Dick Lebeau are the same age Joe Paterno is 9 years older and Bobby Bowden is 7 years older.

Nice job Bredsmom13, you know your stuff.

Coach Schneider's health is #1, everything else is just football. Get well coach.

Who might be Bob's successor if he does in fact step down at the end of the year? I have heard several times that his son Dave would no longer coach once his father decided to hang them up.

I'm not sure his son Dave has all of the teaching credentials needed to take over the job? Not sure what is needed, but heard that some where? Maybe since they are such a small school they need a teacher or employee in that position?

Best wishes to coach Schneider for a speedy recovery! He is a great leader and on heck of a wonderful person!

That is simultaneously his best and worst character trait.

You're right. I wrote before remembering Coach Schneider has missed the end of the season.

My sincerest apologies to you and the rest of the NewCath faithful.

I hate to see this happen to one of the titans of football in this state, the man is one of the greats for sure. I pray for him and his family to get well again.

At least you know where you stand. I never had to wonder about that.

When he started coaching I was still watching The Time Tunnel on Friday nights and getting ready for my cub scout meetings. Geez.

He taught me senior English in '64 - 65 . Before he was the head football coach . Some of the novels we had to read for him were " The Child Buyer " by John Hersey , "White Lotus" also by John Hersey , "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoyevsky and "Lord of the Flies" by Wm Golding .

Whatever his decision, he's certainly earned the right to make it himself; and I'm sure the NCC powers will allow him to do so. Best of luck to him and his family--If he retires, I hope he goes out with a victory in BG!!

I wish coach Schneider a quick recovery. One thing is certain, it will be very strange to read the the Saturday paper and not see a quote from him as the coach of NCC. No one keeps a job for 40 plus seasons without being a good coach, and also being a good leader of young men.
