It would seem to me that the FHS weight-lifting program needs to be looked at, I believe that this has been an issue/excuse for the past couple of seasons. Now it turns to suggesting kids not play basketball and get in the weightroom instead. It would seem to me that lifting from March to August would be adequate enough for the kids that play basketball. I would assume that these kids in basketball are not the O and D lines so in the trenches FHS should already be strong enough? If you truly want to know why Beechwood has won so much, don't focus on the weightroom, look instead at the youth program.

 

Not true. The weight room and off season conditioning have 10x the impact on the success of Beechwood's program that any youth program has. You should see how hard these kids work in the off season. There are quite a few key players in every class at Beechwood that didn't even play youth football.

Hey Papa, I don't recall several TD's being called back in the BB/Frankfort game. I recall both teams having several turnovers, so that can't be an excuse about the game being that close. How about thinking that BB isn't that bad and maybe they played a really good game against a good team.

CoachBuckett, the FYFL use to not be that way. They have done away with a lot of the rules and regulations that were there before. I know for a fact the Rams were all about blocking, tackling, discipline, safety and conditioning. The FYFL needs to get back to where they were. Heck, now you can pay 50 extra dollars and play for whatever team you want instead of playing in specific districts.

According to some of the Frankfort fans I was talking to Friday night, they also said there were several tds called back in the BB game.

Rhino I wasn't putting down BB at all. I have told everyone I think their program has come a long way. I didn't see the BB / Frankfort game. I was basing what I said on a conversation I had with the Frankfort chain crew before our game with them. My point should have been both teams were better than some were giving them credit for.

In a small school system, it's imperative that students participate in every sport that they can....Involvement in other sports keeps them competitive,and for the most part out of academic and social trouble.

HH, when you said Feeder I'm thinking staffs that clinic with one another to share Teaching Progressions of various positions, and Offensive/Defensive/ Special Teams schematics...Thanks for the clarification.

Why?

 

Everyone looked at the BB and Frankfort score and assumed Frankfort wasn't that good. Keep in mind Frankfort had several TD called back, had several starters out for various reasons, several turnovers, the starting QB out with a concussion, second team QB out for season, and a wide receiver playing QB. Frankfort was a very good team that could play with any class A school. Everyone seems to forget that Frankfort was ranked higher than Bellevue all year. The correct statement at least according to all the polls this year is " Wow Bellevue pulled one off".

 

Because I had a chance to see both teams play and I thought Bellevue would come in and run all over them.
