The way SK has been playing since the HClay game, this isn't really that surprising. They're a great ballclub. Not sure they can beat X, but, I do feel they'll play very competitively and it's close late, who knows, stranger things have happened...

I wonder how well they passed the ball in the loss to Henry Clay. Lawrence just does not have a lot of zip on the ball and I do not consider him to be a strong passer. Yes, he gets the job done because he is a great leader and has a huge heart and is certainly a very good high school QB, but I do not consider him to be a really effective passer. An effective passer can pass well when coming from behind and that is an unknown for SK except for the HC game, that's why I ask how well he passed the ball in that lone loss.

 

Against H.C. Lawrence was 11 for 15 with 150 yards 1 T.D. 2 ints.

I have seen him throw the ball 50 yards in the air a few times this year. He has a stronger arm than most realize.

I would describe him as an average passer, but the running game from Miles along with the fact that you have to be ready for him to break out for a huge run is what allows his passing game to be effective. I don't know if SK could win if they had to throw the ball constantly but thankfully they don't.

Keep in mind, the Lit ratings do not include any games against out of state teams.

 

Therefore, St X's loss to Cincy St X was not factored in, and neither was Highlands' win against them.

 

That would have made a big difference in those rankings.

This is my assessment. He is a winner, too, and you can tell he is a very good team leader.

Being a former QB myself, I have seen Chad make more than his fair share of passes with zip on them. Last season if SK had to complete a pass you had to pray, this season I feel very confident that they can get it done. A play from last week's game sticks out, tied at 7's and it's 4th and goal from the one. They had originally started 1st and goal from the 4 and Butler was playing tight run defense. So on 4th and one you are thinking Miles will get the ball or Chad will run but SK rolls him out to the left and he completed the TD to Rabe. It may have not meant much to most watching but that's something you wouldn't have seen in the past.
