Currently, Saint Xavier is first, Simon Kenton is second, and Highlands is third in Kentucky, regardless of football classification.

Well, I will say this... if Simon Kenton manages to win 6A this year (and granted, that's asking a lot of SK), then I'm going to pull this thread back up for discussion. We're going to get to see how good SK really is in the next few weeks.

I don't think SK is tops in NKY, atleast not at this point. They've looked great the second half of the season but we'll see how the next few weeks plays out first. Congrats to the Pioneers for a great season thus far.

I agree with this! It's pretty amazing to see SK so high on a state rankings list this late in the year. Wow!

This weekend will be the first big test for the Neers in a while. They have not had to pass EFFECTIVELY yet this year to win their games. Not to say that Lawrence cannot pass, but he is a much bigger running threat than passing IMO. Here's hoping they take it to Manual.

1400 yards passing at 70% with 10 T.D.s That seems effective to me.

I wonder how well they passed the ball in the loss to Henry Clay. Lawrence just does not have a lot of zip on the ball and I do not consider him to be a strong passer. Yes, he gets the job done because he is a great leader and has a huge heart and is certainly a very good high school QB, but I do not consider him to be a really effective passer. An effective passer can pass well when coming from behind and that is an unknown for SK except for the HC game, that's why I ask how well he passed the ball in that lone loss.
