Looks as though it could be an interesting game.

 

SV has 2 1,000 yard backs (1,600 & 1,400) and the QB has close to 700 yards on the ground. Over 4,400 yards rushing while only allowing 1,400.

 

This should be a better game than most think.

Corbin will have to stop the run better than they have in some of their games or the season will end prematurely. Shelby Valley put a whipping on a Pike Central team that beat Sheldon Clark 40-18 and they also gave Prestonsburg a battle on the road, so they obviously have a very good team.

Prayers up to the Jewel clan. Annie is a dandy, not a person in the crowd more passionate about whats happening out there.

Shelby Valley is a lot better than they get credit for. I know Corbin is favored but I wouldn't be suprised if Valley pulls off the upset.

I will take Corbin by 2 td's.

I hate to hear about this loss for the Jewells. They are good people and they have my prayers. They give a lot of themselves to Corbin High School and to Redhound Football.

 

As for the game, Corbin must be mentally prepared and come out firing. They can not get a lead and put it in cruise control. The second round is a trap week for Corbin due to the lack of competition in the past few years. Suddenly there is a tough team coming to town and the Hounds have to bring their A game a little sooner than in the past. I think Coach Jewell and company will have the team coached up and ready, but teenage boys are the ones we are counting on to be ready to play internally, which I think they will be.
