Ryle has a lot more overall team speed now than in 2006. X is a little faster overall than Ryle this year but T was WAAAY faster than Ryle in 2006. Add in the fact that Ryle elected not to try to work on a passing game that year and the matchup was a mismatch. I do not see Friday night as a mismatch. Sure, X is a heavy favorite, but I think you will be surprised at what takes place.

 

 

I think the only SUPRISES will be how far off the No. Ky. faithful were in their approach to this game. Will be shocked if it is even close (by that I mean within 3td's).

Ryle has played Highlands twice and in my opinion they are better than St X. Highlands went across and beat Ohio St X. The Ryle / Highlands game was a loss for Ryle but nothing to be ashamed of. I would not expect Ryle to be caught of guard by St. X considering their experence with Highlands.

Luke Boggs, Logan Carney, Keefer Eubank, Travis Elliot (I know I may have their names spelled wrong. Sorry). All 4 of these are around 4.5 The 06 team was bigger and stronger. It was good that Ryle had all their playoff games that year at home in the mud. IMO

Morgan, Gray, and Murray faster than Eubank.

Morgan faster than Carney.

Franke faster than Boggs and Carney.

Now in no way am I trying to be negative to the current players. I just do not think they are as fast as the 06 team. All the players mentioned I have watched play a lot of football.

How about we talk about this years team because they are the ones playing..We dont need to compare the two teams because it doesnt matter, the 06 team was very good who were state runner-up, this team is also very good with alot of talent and could suprise people. Coach Warner has done alot with this program and has produced some good talent, but we do not need to be on here comparing current players and past players, stick to whats ahead Ryle at ST. X

Morgan, Burtraw, Franke and Schmitz were not near as fast as Carney, Boggs and Eubanks. You obviously don't know what you are talking about. Elliott is faster than Murray and Gray - sorry. The D-line and O[line this year is faster. Murray and Gray carried the team but they were not blazers.

The info that you have is incorrect; the following information is from someone very close to the program.

 

Boggs and Elliott- fastest @ 4.5s to 4.6

Carney, Fugate and Eubank- in the mid 4.6s

 

The difference in 4.5 and 4.6 is huge and don't think anyone runs a true 4.5. That being said, the overall team speed this year is much faster than the 06 team but the 06 team was bigger.

I think you will be greatly surprised by the speed of St. X. Just ask anyone from Covington Catholic or Boone County who saw our games this year, or anyone from Highlands who attended last year's JV game against St. X. These boys have jets in their shoes. :walk:

I don't mean this in any derogatory manner, but the Highlands faithful were all talking about the great speed on their JV team last year before the JV game with X at Highlands. The Birds found out during this game what real speed looked like (go back a year and look at the thread), and most then recalibrated themselves.

 

In terms of "X people think Ryle will look like Boone", this could not be further from the truth. Most of us had the pleasure of watching the Ryle vs. Simon Kenton game on Fox Sports Ohio so we know better. We were especially impressed with the 29 points the Raiders hung up on a tough Pioneer defense in the 2nd half.

 

Actually, reading back through this thread, it's obvious that a lot more St. X. people have seen and know more about the current Ryle team than vice-versa. The Raider fans seem to know very little about our current players at St. X. :idunno:
