We happen to think the food at our(St X) concessions is above average and reasonably priced. Gates open at 6:00pm.

 

Clipper has got that right. The best chicken sandwich in town (as long as it's marinated by Janet), flavorful home fries, lusious burgers with a smoked flavor, and monstrous grilled brats that are to die for.........YUM!!! :popcorn: :clap: :popcorn:

Thanks to all of you. Hope to see some of you at the game. I agree that X will win this game. I hope Ryle keeps it a little closer. They did hold Highlands under 40 both games. They are no where near the level of X, T, and Highlands yet. But they are a much, much better team that played T in 06. Let hope for a GREAT game.

 

 

I strongly disagree! I think the 06 Ryle team was every bit as talented as Trinity was from a personnel stand point. The difference was Ryles coaches inability to teach the team how to defend the pass and the refusal to do anything but run the ball on offense.

Whenever they went from the gun that year everyone knew the only play they would run was direct snap to Murray. No imagination with a extremely talented team. Now the staff has seemed to learn from that from an offensive perspective and they do mix it up a little. Even though their passing game is extremely simplistic it does force teams to be honest, which could not be said in the past.

Thanks Homerun for posting a link to the Ryle Football site. The site is extremely well-done and full of neat information. I especially enjoyed watching the video on the field renovation and the generosity of the Borland family. Having community involvement such as this to supplement the public school government funding has elevated your program greatly. It looks the Ryle community, although only started in 1992, is "walking the talk" to build a strong program and a tradition foundation. :thumb:

 

On a side note, looking at your roster, you seem to be a junior dominated team. I know you are awfully good this year, but next year should be even better.

 

I hope to see a lot you at the game Friday night, and hope that you enjoy the X hospitality (except where the "W" is concerned ) and our new facilities. :ylsuper:

If the weather is good, and Ryle brings a crowd to go along with X's usual strong showing, I wouldn't try to get to the game close to game time. Even though Poplar Level is 4 lanes, traffice will back up pulling into X.

2 bars about a mile from school in Germantown, Checks and Flabbys, offer good bar food for the game, and of course, beverages. Shennanigans and Dundee Tavern , in the Highlands will be good, but are a little far from campus if you are not familiar.

 

If you take 71 to downtown,and take 65 south to eastern parkway,east, then go a few miles to Poplar Level and turn right. This may miss the traffic. You are also closer to checks and Flabbys!

 

Be sure to check out the baseball stadium while you are there.

There is a lot of political correctness in many of the responses. Fact is, this game won't be close. X will run it down their throats and they won't be able to do a thing about it. On defense Ryle will find it nearly impossible to move the ball. Think back to the Trinity - Ryle final in 2006. That is about what this game will look like.

 

Ryle has a lot more overall team speed now than in 2006. X is a little faster overall than Ryle this year but T was WAAAY faster than Ryle in 2006. Add in the fact that Ryle elected not to try to work on a passing game that year and the matchup was a mismatch. I do not see Friday night as a mismatch. Sure, X is a heavy favorite, but I think you will be surprised at what takes place.

I think you will be greatly surprised by the speed of St. X. Just ask anyone from Covington Catholic or Boone County who saw our games this year, or anyone from Highlands who attended last year's JV game against St. X. These boys have jets in their shoes. :walk:
