It's a no win for big name schools, after Ole Miss schedule fiasco this year though I'd love to play Boise. But some of this is also the deal that the weeks have to match up. Also, most schools have their schedule done years in advance, again with the exception of Ole Miss' incompetent AD. So 2011 is probably already filled up for most major teams and they would have to pay big buy out fees to make this happen. If they said lets play in 2013 or 2014 I would guarantee it would happen pretty quick.

Nebraska has a date.....................

Nebraska has a date.....................

But does that date match up with the Date Boise is asking for. I mean that's a big part of it too, the dates you have available have to match up with their available dates.

Lets see what you got Broncos.

Nebraska athletic director Tom Osborne confirmed Saturday he has offered Boise State a 2-for-1 scheduling proposal.

The proposal calls for two games in Lincoln, and one in Bronco Stadium, with the series starting in 2015, Osborne said. He said the proposal was extended a couple months ago.

"They haven't taken us up on it," Osborne said.

Why 2 games in Lincoln and only 1 at Boise? Doesn't seem really fair but if Boise State is really trying to step up and play the big boys on a regular basis, they need to make this deal.

This is why I don't understand why everyone keeps saying they don't play anyone. The big schools do not want to play these good non BCS schools and lose. It's how the BCS works, and does not look to change anytime soon. BCS fails again.

Their stadium isnt that great. Only holds around 33,000 I believe.

Their problem is that they want to play a home and home with big BCS teams but still get paid like a 1-AA team too. Cant have it both ways.

2 for one would be a great deal for Boise IMO. You have to do things like that to get respect. It's sad, Boise is a top 10 program right now IMO and should have to do it...but, it's reality.

Nice shot at Texas and UF for playing cupcakes . I'm sure ESPN is dying to put Texas-Wyoming or UF-Citadel on in prime time next season.

I think Boise would benefit from a 1-1-1 series with Nebraska. Once in Lincoln, once in Boise, and maybe a neutral site game in Denver or something similar. I don't think Boise should be doing 2-for-1's.

^I see that but don't you have to do what it takes? Boise State football is too good to be an afterthought IMO.

If we had a playoff system, teams wouldn't have so much reason to avoid Boise State. Actually, it might help their chances of getting in, if they're on the borderline, based on strength of schedule.

Amazing, isn't it, how we have all sorts of good intersectional matchups in college basketball, but very few in football?

From the article:

Not only is that not happening they can’t get one game against the league. While Bleymaier won’t say specifically which schools have turned him down, he will say that the open date remains – Sept. 3, 2011. The offer stands, the Broncos will go anywhere.

And, lo and behold, guess which major conference school happens to have an open date? How about Harvey Perlman’s Nebraska, the one-time powerhouse which could use all the big attention grabbing games it can get these days?

From the article:

It also has to do with money. Boise wants to get respect like a BCS program but they want to get paid like little joe blow university. For example, this coming year Boise is playing Va Tech at a neutral site I believe but VT is paying them 1.25 million to come. Nebraska doesnt pay that kind of money for teams to come to Lincoln.

I'm trying to get a hold of some more information on this. I think this deal gets done, no way Boise can talk a big game and then turn this one down.
