November 1, 200916 yr If I had asked any UK fan 7 years ago if they would have thought UK would ever have 3 straight winning season and be in the middle of a campaign that could lead to their fourth straight winning season, every UK fan I could have found would have told me I was crazy. Now that it's happening UK fans are already starting to question if the coach who got them this far can take them any further? With the history of UK football it is more likely they will step back after Brooks leaves than take another step forward, but that's just my thought. I agree. I believe the coaching job done by Brooks has been amazing. Would I like to move up another notch: absolutely. I think it's human nature to always want more or better things, its the nature of the beast. If takes alot of patience to go from cellar dwellar to pereniall power. And I believe were talking alot more than 4 years. So currently, I will live in the present happily with the 6-6 and 7-5 years and minor bowls and dream of one day of better things. The ugly days of yesteryear will be forever etched in my memory.
November 1, 200916 yr You nailed it. How about Mark Richt? Can we have him please  Take him, I don't think he's a bad coach, I just think he's underachieved at Georgia and when you add last year's outcome to this year' start, maybe he should go.
November 1, 200916 yr Take him, I don't think he's a bad coach, I just think he's underachieved at Georgia and when you add last year's outcome to this year' start, maybe he should go. :isurrender: Please look at his resume. That guy doesn't not deserve to go right now.
November 1, 200916 yr Why would BK be unrealistic? Why would he leave a better program to come to UK?
November 1, 200916 yr :isurrender: Please look at his resume. That guy doesn't not deserve to go right now. I've looked at his resume, I'm one of the most die-hard college football fans there are. I pay attention to any and everything college football, I just think with no MNC title appearances-I don't fault the man for never winning a title, it happens-with the teams he's had is underachieving. We'll agree to disagree, how's that?
November 1, 200916 yr What if Brian Kelly let it be known that he would take the UK job? Then you need to do what ever it takes to get him in Lexington. I think he is a top 5 coach in the country..:thumb:

November 1, 200916 yr What if Brian Kelly let it be known that he would take the UK job? I would throw almost as much money at BK as UK did Cal. I just want to see how he recruits, I would imagine it's a lot harder to recruit in Kentucky than it is in Cincinnati. I don't think it's a very realistic idea that BK would want to go to UK, now Georgia, that's a different story. But if he wanted to go to UK and coach in the SEC then you have to land him. If BK did go to the SEC think about all of the HUGE coaching names the SEC would have: Meyer, Kelly, Miles, Saban, Kiffin. And then you have Bobby Petrino and Dan Mullen who will both make their programs a lot better.
November 1, 200916 yr Author Why would he leave a better program to come to UK? It would be foolish to think there aren't things that would attract him. I can really only think of one or two things that would keep him from not looking into it. On the plus side: Conference Facilities Money Inroads to better recruiting areas Negatives: Waiting for a better higher-profile job. There's no reason for a coach to think that he can't win at UK. Everything is in place.

November 2, 200916 yr Author There is no "waiting" for a better job, he could have one if he wanted. I'd like to hear GT's thoughts on the matter... You missed the point. Lets say that he would consider the benefits of the UK position and lets say he likes the opportunity. He would then have to decide to make the jump to UK OR wait to see if a job that he considers to be better actually comes open. He probably wants the ND job but right now its not open. He probably would take the Florida job but its not open. He probably....
November 2, 200916 yr I realize BK is having a great year, but the guy to go after is Chris Petersen IMO. If I was a betting man and I wanted to put my money on the guy that will be the "next" Pete Carroll, I'd bet the farm on Petersen.
November 2, 200916 yr I'd need a few questions answered before I'd say BK would take a serious look at UK. 1. How much is UK willing to spend not only on a new big name coach, but the staff that he would bring along with him? BK has had most of these guys with him since GVSU with a few being by his side for most of his entire coaching career. He's not going anywhere without those guys, and he's going to expect a lot of money to be thrown their way. 2. Does UK have a full scale indoor practice facility for football? If so I find it a bit odd that I've never heard about it. I'll start with those two...
