District 7 is not bad, but it isn't as good as District 8. A few years ago, it was just the opposite.

 

But when a non playoff team from district 8 is 2-0 against the #1 and #3 teams in district 7, it is some indication that the roles have switched for this season.

 

I think this could be one of the better 1st round games.

I have seen Pulaski, SW Pulaski, Lincoln, Whitley, North Laurel. I looked up stats for the teams and in the district with Pulaski the teams are a combined 17wins, 23 losses and Whitley's and North's district is 32wins and 18 losses. Whitley is the best team of PC, SW Pulaski, and Lincoln. I hope Coach Larkey can win this game, we are rooting for you.

What makes you think a district with teams who make the playoffs with 1 win (Mercer), 4 wins (SL), and not make playoffs with 2 wins (Lincoln) can sit here and brag about how over looked they are.

Get your facts straight. Lincoln did not want to play PC last week. They were offered and did not want to give up their game vs. Garrard Co. So please don't try to play that card. Top to bottom I do think Dist 8 is better than Dist 7. If I was going to rank the playoff teams it would go like this.

 

1. Whitley Co.

2. PC (tie)

2. Letcher Co (tie)

4. SW

5. Harlan Co

6. Perry Cent

7. South Laurel

8. Mercer Co.

 

I would not be surprised to see any of the top 5 coming out of the region. Whitley is probably playing the best ball right now.

Thanks for that tidbit. Schultz has been a beast up front for the Warriors.

All indications would point to Southwestern with it being a home game, having last week off, and a lop sided loss already to Southwestern; however, HCC's offense has improved over the course of the season and they proven they can beat teams with similar talent went it matters.

 

Coach Larkey has to repair the psyche to it previous state after getting handled by Bell Co and not allowing the earlier loss to play into the game if Southwestern scores first.

HC has 6 different starters on offense this game compared to the first game. Jamie Ball, one of the best OL in SE KY didn't play in the first game for HC. This should even things up a little. SW still has the better athletes and should win the game, however, it should not be a blow out.

Tucker Lewis wasn't starting at LB for HC and clogging up the middle either. Seems like when SW wasn't running kick offs or punts back they were breaking big plays up the middle. He should make a difference in the middle.

Unless HC has gotten a lot faster, I see SW winning again. Too much team speed, and Turpin is throwing the ball well. SW 34-20.
