Miles didn't get many touches tonight. Heard that the coaches from SK were a little worried about the playing surface at Scott and didn't want to risk an injury.

 

I stood on the playing field and my foot disapperead, I can't wait to see Scott's new stadium. Scott did a nice job of stalling MS for a while but he did rip off a few very nice runs and made many defenders think twice about confronting him. SK proved once again they aren't a one trick pony, Lawrence is the key that turns the engine.

Marksberry has to have something against him.

I was wondering when someone would actually bring this up. I don't think SK has been in a competitive game since Henry Clay. If it takes hurting the feelings of your opponents to make your team better then so be it.

All starters were out of the game very early in the 4th, I believe the 9 minute mark. I forgot to mention the game included one of the most violent collisions you could imagine. On fourth and long Sowder took off running down the sideline near the SK bench, I can't remember if it was Bailey or Pinkleton from SK but when they collided, it made a very loud noise and both players went flying.

Most of us know that Marksberry may play his starters a little to much in some blowout wins, but as far as the way they have played since HC you can't blame him for leaving them in for 3 quarters. Like someone else said you need to prepare these boys for a run to the Championship.

SK doesn't have a young team. They've got a bunch of players that have been there before. So, the 'how else would the starters be ready' argument holds no water. The have an all-state running back still running the ball in the 4th quarter of games that are out of reach. You have a tremendous QB still running around in the 4th quarter of games out of reach. I've talked to some Pioneer fans who would agree with me. There's absolutely no reason for those guys to be out on the field in the 4th quarter of a blowout game. They're not on Highlands level where they can just plug the next guy in and still be as successfull. I would imagine your opinion would change if Lawrence or Simpson was lost for the year during one of these blowout wins.

What is side kicking? Kicking off close to the sideline?

 

If that's what you're talking about then no question SK should continue doing that. Less likely to have an injury due to high speed collisions because the short high kicks offer no time for wedge development nor full speed returns (if done properly.)

Was Repka the kicker or the backup? I remember a short kick from #61 but can't remember Repka kicking a short one.

Sure they could have. He clearly was just being a decoy by the lack of touches. They need to keep him in to get used to a playoff game where they do play the whole game. When he was in in the fourth, he wasn't getting touches he was just still being a decoy. I think that is what they used him for all night long by looking at Lawrences numbers. (Not taking anything away from Chad because he's a hell of a player.)

SK onside kicked it with 1:22 seconds to go in the 2nd quarter after it was already 29 to 0. I know it is a rivalry but come Sk, show some class. Plus its not that smart when the next sport coming after football is basketball which Scott clearly dominated them all 3 games last year and are pretty fired up for their next encounter. See if they show any class
