Colt had 5 rushing touchdowns, tying a school record. Colt can't throw as well as Neil but he's faster, adding another rushing threat. I enjoyed watching Mason proving they can grind it out. Both offensive and defensive lines played well for Mason.

 

Not to nitpick, but he had 4 touchdowns and 6 is the school record, held by Grutza and Thompson. Colt's first sneak was a fumble into the end zone that was recovered by offensive lineman Austin Berry.

Mason has to be threat to win state this year!

He is going to be a top notch running back. For that matter, he already is! Teams will focus on stopping him now, though, if the QB is out. The yards might be harder to come by. At some point in the playoffs, the backup QB will have to win a game with his arm. Maybe he can...but I still hate to hear about the starter going out.

 

It's a little harder for him to throw since he has a shoulder injury.

I heard that the xrays look good and he will have a mri asap. If anything it is a strained mcl, not anything to do with acl.

I believe an MRI is scheduled for Monday.

Musketeers, we can't turn the ball over continuously and expect to win ball games! Mason County did a good job capitalizing on our mistakes. Subtract the turnovers from the score and this might have had a different outcome.

Turnovers hurt GCHS early and after the third fumble in a row and Mason capitalizing on it with the third score in a row the momentum never came back to Greenup, while our boys did play with heart, just like Purefan said, you can't win giving the ball up 4 times and the other team capitalizing on them with scores.

I am not being negative, just realistic. After examining many knee injuries, it is hard to ascertain what is involved at this point due to edema and spasm. The MRI will tell everyone the cold hard facts. I hope he is okay and gets to play again very soon.

Got knocked out of the Scott County basketball game with an elbow to the head. I don't remember him being hurt during football season, but I've been wrong before.

My son corrected me about Colt's TDs today. I got my original info from another parent.

 

As I reflected on this game, I felt more and more than Mason's O line did a great job. At one point they had a 16 play, 10 minute drive to score. You don't do that without the hosses up front playing well. I know Mason's backs, etc realize how good their line is, but this is the first game where they really got to assert themselves because previously they usually made made quick scores.
