Bengals TE Situation

Featured Replies

I just heard on SIRIUS NFL Radio that the Dallas Cowboys rejected a "substantial" trade offer for backup TE Martellus Bennett. And, the team making the offer was the Cincinnati Bengals.

It's nice to hear that Cincy is seriously trying to address that position. I'm curious to know what they offered. Hopefully, they'll tell us some more.

I figured I'd pass that news, or non-news, on.

Interesting. Thanks 5wide :thumb:

There TE's are gross. Coats can't catch the flu. The other TE is off the street. Both of them fumbled on Sunday. They are killing the Bengals. Coffman can't be that bad, at least he can probably catch.

Jacob Tamme? Maybe the Bengals would trade for him.

They already have a pass-catching small TE in Coffman. I think the Bengals are looking for an every-down TE who can block AND catch.

When I saw Foschi fumble last week I was in disgust. Were playing a TE that would probably be cut by every other team in the NFL. If Chad fumbled trying to make a play, or Cedric, I'd probably just be a little angry but for a player like Foschi to end the game by himself after not contributing the entire year just made my blood boil.

Maybe they should just put Andre Smith in as the TE...the guys they have now can't catch, and when they do, it sometimes ends up worse than a drop. Why not just maximize the blocking potential instead of putting a "real TE" out there just to have one?

I'd give Brian Leonard a shot at TE.

They won't be able to trade for one because the trading deadline has passed.

Is it sad that I had a dream that we(the Bengals) picked up some stud TE and an amazing DE? Seriously don't remember there names or how it worked out. All I remember is that in my dream ESPN and every sports station was now picking the Bengals to win the Super Bowl.

That was definetly a dream. Mike Brown might even say it was a nightmare.

Yea you're right, I think in my dream Jerry Jones bought the Bengals or something.

Is Coffman hurt or just inactive?

Apparently they don't think he's ready to take on the task of blocking in the NFL.

Aren't ya supposed to know this stuff BEFORE ya draft the guy???

I love your avatar malachi. However, the Steelers have 3 TE's that can block and catch. Maybe they could work something out.
