October 23, 200916 yr What's funny is we're playing with a man down and we still beat the Stealers.:thumb::clap: What's funny is that the Steelers were the ones playing without their best player that day....
October 23, 200916 yr Agreed. But why draft and keep a guy that can't help you? It seems like we have been discussing the woes of Bengals TEs for an eternity. Coffman will help eventually, I read somewhere that he was having a hard time picking up the blocking schemes/special teams.
October 23, 200916 yr Coffman will help eventually, I read somewhere that he was having a hard time picking up the blocking schemes/special teams. That was the latest I had heard. They said as of now, he couldn't help on special teams. Your 2 TEs are killing you right now, and you have a pass catching one inactive because he has troubles on special teams? Play someone else on special teams.
October 23, 200916 yr Coffman seamed a little slow on Hard Knocks, so I'm not at all surprised that he can't pick up something like blocking schemes.
October 23, 200916 yr Ya don't use a 3rd round pick on a guy that can't help you at least on STs. Oh wait Simpson was a 2nd rounder. Just the Bengals bein the Bengals:lol:

With as bad at the TE's now, I really don't understand Marvin not at least trying Coffman. As for Simpson, I never did understand that pick. I mean yeah they needed to draft receivers because they weren't sure what was going to happen with Chad in the offseason, and Henry was off the team. If I remember correctly though they had people like Desean Jackson, and Mario Manningham available that they could have taken. Manningham is the guy I really wanted them to get.

They're all over the board when it comes to the draft. Mauluga has to be their best pick in some time:thumb:

This year's draft has been great, and Andre Smith & Coffman haven't even stepped onto the field. I think Coffman will turn out to be a solid TE / WR, and I still think Smith will be an O-lineman in Cincy for a long, long time.
October 24, 200916 yr Another armchair quarterback.:ylsuper::idunno::ohbrother: Your life is calling. Don't keep it waiting.:thumb:
