just found out the other night from one of Gott's summer coaches he will be most likely in Tates Creek OF as a 7th grader next season!! That is amazing I really hope this kid can live up to the hype, if so he should be a special player in the state of KY for years to come.

 

 

I SERIOUSLY doupt that will happen. I played on Henry Clay's JV as a 7th grader(and i was almost 14 at the time), and i dont think it is possible that he could compete on a varsity level as a 13 year old kid. TC also returns 2 outfielders from last year who played alot. Plus a few promising young OF's.

If you are referring to the velocity, than it certainly can happen and you must remember, that pitchers in Little League are throwing from 46 feet and not 60'.

 

I have watched a large number of youth games in Kentucky over the last 25 years and I have seen kids reach the upper mid to low 70's in person. It can be done, not all that common but yes it is possible.

Your probably right HC50.......I was just stating what i heard from a reliable source. But most likely IMO like you said this won't happen and he will be playing on the JV level until his Freshman year.

yeah that trevor gott kid does not throw even close to that hard, he might have hit 80 once, but thats not truly throwing 80s. and theres no way he will start in the outfield for tates creek next year because he cant at the hs level, let alone varsity. it may look like 81 from 46' but from 60' its about mid 70s, maybe, its still good dont get me wrong but the kid is almost 6' tall, if your that big you should be able to throw that hard.

I've never heard of the kid before and have certainly never seen him, but id be willing to bet that he is one of these kids who matures extremely quickly, then hardly grows much bigger.

If he is good enough he can. It is allowed in the state of KY for junior high kids to play on the varsity team. If that is what you meant.

I would really like to watch this young man pitch. If he can throw that hard, it would be a treat to watch him.

Seen in Saturday's paper where the kid from the Lexington Cal Ripken League that lost in the championship throws 81 M.P.H. Said that was an equivelent to 105 in the majors. I think that is the highest speed that I can remember seeing in Little League. AMAZING!

I saw the kid play and he's for real.

Clocked at 81 and his motion is completely effortless.

Gott is a special player who doesn't come along very often.

Write the name in your memory bank, you'll hear it many times in the future.

I just hope someone is taking care of these kids arms. I have seen a lot of young kids destroy their arms while they were young. Usually these pitchers are the better athletes, and as soon as they pitch, the next game they will be playing Shortstop. This is horrible for their arms....

I agree totally. This kid is awesome as a 12 year old. I saw him in the state tourney.
