Rocket...just read where one of Crittenden's starting WR and DB's was hurt last week against Fulton City...how is his injury...I believe I read where it was a dislocated left elbow?

I also thought it was strange that we weren't in the pick 10 games this week. Being a BG preps #2 and #4 going at it in 1A.

This is the biggest game in Western Ky this year, all classes considered. Crittenden County moves the streak to 3 in a row over Mayfield.

The best part of being a pessimist, if I'm wrong I'm pleasently surprised and if I'm right, I get that satisfactory "I knew it" feeling :lol:

I don't think that Mayfield has to dig deep to get up for this game. Pretty much the whole team remembers both losses last year and I am sure don't want to repeat that again this year. I look for Mayfield to get on top early with big plays to try to get Crittenden out of the grind-it-out offense and go to something like a passing game or something else they are not accustomed to. Mayfield has improved their run defense some but I don't know how much, Crittenden has a very good blocking line and I think Mayfield will try to use speed to break some of that up. JD is an athlete for sure and we have to be able to stop him, should be a great one to watch.

I'm not surprised. I am disappointed though that this game probably won't get the nod from the "football experts". It's a "West" thing, I'm sure.:ohbrother:

 

I wouldn't go that far. Mayfield and CC is getting respect. I just finished reading the paper and the AP has #1 Mayfield, #2 LCA, #3 Critt. Co and #4 Beechwood. I would say that having 2 of the top 3 class A teams in the state voted by the so called experts is very good and getting respect. :idunno: Anyway I hope both teams play to the full ability. And it's a game both will talk about for years. I know we didn't help your teams in the rankings last week after LCA killed us. We couldn't stop them on defense. We were missing our 325lb nose guard to the flu and our best inside linebacker to a bad ankle. So Hayden ate us up. We are to thin to be missing those star players. And our QB went out with a hand injury. Had to go to the wildcat offense.

I think Mayfield likely wins, but, lets not forget CC did beat Mayfield twice last year and have 18 of 22 starters returning, plus, they're at home. I think either team is good enough to make it past Beechwood, Holy Cross or Frankfort this year and to the title game. Although this game is big for homefield purposes in the playoffs, in the bigger picture, theres a 95% chance that these 2 teams will play again in the Regional finals and both teams are capable of taking one or both or losing one or both...

 

This was a Mayfield team that finished with roughly a .500 record last year. I like Mayfield to turn the tables this year and pull out a 2 TD victory (something like 28-15), but field conditions could be damp/muddy and that could slow down a faster Mayfield team.
