Sounds like a lot of people on here are saying the other part, too. "Go ahead and crown them". I think LCA should at least make the finals this year. Then against Beechwood or Mayfield, who knows?

:thumb: You got that right Ram. I never would have predicted a score like that because of the quality of the Raceland program, but I can't say I am surprised except I would have expected the Rams to put some points on the board. LCA is just that good this year.

LCA has a great team, but must continue to believe in each other and take every opportunity to improve. They cannot become stagnet.

 

Speaking of the game, I think it was a very classy gesture by Coach Rains to pull the starters when LCA had the ball on Raceland's 15 yard line with 8 mintues to go in the third up 40-0. It was also a very classy move for Coach Vanderhoof to do the same. I know the coaches are good friends and Coach Rains showed mercy by not going for the running clock and Coach Hoof returned the act with pulling his starters and not playing them against LCA's freshmen. Good sportsmanship all the way around.

Not to take away from LCA, but Raceland shot themselves in the foot several times in the first quarter. Raceland moved the ball down to the 30 yard line, or so, and just couldn't put it in the endzone. That's a credit to LCA and a problem with our offense at the same time.

 

But, in all honesty, I expected about a 30 or 40 point game, I think Raceland has the talent to keep it closer then that, but we are a little inconsistent this season. LCA is a mature, talented, and experienced team, as you know, when you put all those things together on one team, you win a lot of games.

Hopefully the Rams will regroup and be back in Lexington in three weeks for the Regional Championship. If the Rams stay focused that's a great possibility.

THis basically the same team as LCA last year just better! And Raceland graduated on of the best classes in the schools history.

 

They are good. Very good. But I don't think LCA is as good as last year. They lost so many linemen and the big tall receivers from last years team. Even with the team we had last year we couldn't defeat them when it counted. Those kids they lost last year made them something special. And I think if we hadden beat them up so much the week before the Pikeville game they woud have played for the state title again. Just a few weeks before they had beat Pikeville by 40+ points. I don't disagree this LCA team is next to being great. But I think Whitt the (QB) and D. H. the train are that special. They really make this team. We moved the ball on LCA. But our silly mistakes we always make bit us in the butt again and again. Then I felt we just gave up before the end of the second half. The last int right before the half that was run back for a TD killed us. Our boys dropped their heads and gave up after that. :cry: I was happy our young kids got a taste of it vs the young kids of LCA. We did alright.

I don't know if I should say this or not. But I keep telling people on here that I always say what I feel. I don't hold back. And if I hurt someone I'm truly sorry. Thats just me. I don't sugar coat anything. BUT when the starters were taken out of the game and I see alot of them going back to the track behind the TEAM seats and talking to moms, dads, girlfriends, friends ect. and laughing it up while it is still the 3rd Qtr. And we are behind by 40 points it burns my BUTT. And I hear one of the Sr kids didn't ride the bus back. And we set here and wonder why we lost the way we did and wonder why our season has gone the way it has gone. NO LEADERSHIP:taz::taz::madman::cry:

:lol::thumb:You would have to be from around here and know the story of Raceland boosters (certanly not the coaches or school admin.) getting the Fire Depts. of the two small communities of Raceland/Worthington to form a parade back into town after big some wins at Ashland in the past along with a couple of others.

 

oldrambler, I know several guys on the Lexington Fire Dept and they are from Boyd and Lawrence County, so maybe they were doing some payback, LOL :lol::lol:

Mayb so, also Raceand fans have joked around on this board about the fire trucks and I would say that maybe LCA folk had an imput in it as well. All in good fun and it actually was a nice shot/comback by LCA.

BTW, Oldrambler, don't sweat the fire truck thing, we all know that Raceland's firefighter's are better looking anyways.

I will say it again this week. LCA has the total package. Save your money and send them the 1A title.

That kid was picking our secondary apart early in the game. He has a bright future.

Better than I expected as well.

He played very well Friday. he's only a junior this year so he has some experience to gain. But those first few series were probably his best all season. He stayed in the pocket was poised and delivered those short passes to move the chains and keep the time of possesion in our favor. If he plays like that the entire game this week we should get the W.
