October 11, 200916 yr Notes from Ricks press conference about the arrest : How dare the media report anything about the arrest of Terrence Jennings and Jerry Smith on the birthday of Michelle Wie, Luke Perry and Steve Young. Also, as many of you know, I'm from New York. With it being Columbus Day tomorrow, it is ridiculous for the media to be playing this up. October 12, 200916 yr The story I heard: TJ got into a scuffle with a guy at a homecoming party in Indiana. An undercover cop tried to break it up, and TJ resisted. He pulled him away, Jerry Smith then got involved questioning why TJ was being arrested. This led to the two of them getting booked. This probably won't amount to much accept some bad PR. College kids go to parties, college kids get into fights. If they were in Louisville they probably don't get in trouble IMO. Not that it makes it right, but at least it wasn't alcohol or drugs.
October 12, 200916 yr I'm not real concerned, from what it sounds like this isn't anything really big. BTW not personal experiance but from more than a few friends, the undercover law enforcement in these bars could stand to take a chill pill, they trend at acting as escalators of trouble and not diffusers.

It's no biggie, as I figured. And as for the UC's, I can speak from personal experience. They hardly ever make situations better.

October 12, 200916 yr Nothing to see here. College kids being college kids....no drugs, alcohol or seemingly under the influence issues. Come on guys its easy to blame the police for things and yes some probably overstep their bounds, but it is really easy not to get arrested.

October 12, 200916 yr You can do better than that... Um, ok. LABS does bring up a good point in that it really isn't easy to get arrested. I'm sure this isn't a huge deal, but cops don't arrest you for nothing.

If they cuffed Jerry Smith for trying to find out why TJ was cuffed, that is nothing... Believe what you want, cops love "busting" high-profile people like this, regardless of what college or pro team they play for.
