WILDMAN Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 The game was 36-34 at halftime. Corbin's staff must have lit a fire under the Redhounds at the break. Caleb Watkins ran wild for 8 TD's (5 rushing, 2 returns, 1 reception, and one called back.) Ryann Fritts had 2 tds as well. Early report had Watkins with 451 yards total offense.
BaseballIsLife Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Wow 85 points? I don't want to throw any accusations out at anybody but were they subbing late in the game when the game was already decided?
charlesw88 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Wow 85 points? I don't want to throw any accusations out at anybody but were they subbing late in the game when the game was already decided? I'm wondering the same thing.

3wishes Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I listened the whole game. Fritts scored the last TD for the varsity with about 23 seconds left in the 3rd quarter that made it 73-35; then the clock ran up 39 points. Watkins was in at the same also but came out after that score. The JV/Freshmen scored the remaining last two touchdowns.
gchs_uk9 Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I thought this was a score from the WYMT Mountain Classic at first.
Les Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I thought this was a score from the WYMT Mountain Classic at first. I believe the basketball version of Knott Central would put up a way better fight than a 51-point loss.:thumb:
Les Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Watkins had 275 yards rushing on 8 carries and he ahd a 69-yard TD run called back.
WILDMAN Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 This game was kind of welll...i dont really know. It was tit for tat in the first half. Finally Corbin just came out and scored really quick. Two of their TD's came from the subs, and the rest were due to turnovers deep in KCC territory or from great punt returns. One thing about Coach Jewell, he won't rub a teams face into it. There have been times as a fan that we wanted to see 70 or 80 on the board and many times it could have been that or even 100-120, literally (due to being alligned with lesser programs). He genuinely doesn't score more than 63-69 points and that includes JV tds. Even a few years ago against the Hounds bitter rival, Middlesboro, Corbin was up 49-7 at the half. They pulled the starters and won 63-7. Same way with Bell County in 2001 when Corbin was up 35 at the break.
campbellfield Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 Before the game I heard the Hounds will be off until Tuesday......I wonder if that will still be the case with the D playing so poorly in the first half. The agreement before the game was once corbin was up 35 they would use the running clock. It took a long while but once we got the 35 point lead we pulled ALL starters. Say what you want about coach Jewell, but he has never ran up the score on anyone intentionally. Too many times (for me anyway) he will pull starters with a lead of only 3 tds or so... mid way in the 3rd. Most times Caleb touched the ball he scored, I can't remember a touch that went for less than 20 yards....that is rushing, receiving, KO return or punt return. And this kid isn't included in Mr. Football conversation??
