Good game by Dixie, Colonels capitalized on 3-turnovers made by the Birds. Dixie's Pike should be a good QB next season for the Colonels. If not for Wilson, Pike could be their starter. Birds QB-Carter New stepped in, making the transition from DB to lead the offense after the recent promotion of Towles to fill the Varsity duties. Birds' offense struggled with turnovers and misques. No excuses though Birds had their opportunities.

Birds defense scored first on a pick by DB-Austin Rosenhagen. Offensive scores were by McGurn, New and ... (sorry it escapes me).

I bet Pike sleep's well tonight after playing 2 games in less than 24 hours.

As in Zeke Pike! Wonder how he would do with the varsity. Seems like he was on the field all night last night on defense and special teams. He will be a good one that's for sure. I saw that he came off the field last night with some back issue. I guess he was alright to play today.

Wow, looks like Dixie has another good in the making for Coach Spritzky.

Pike went down with cramps last night in his left calf. He generally starts defense, and that's about it. He's played very little offense until last night. With Raleigh (32) going down injured, he had to step in on the offensive side of the ball. You could tell last night that he's not used to playing both, because he was sucking wind hard in the 3rd. Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing him more on the offensive side of the ball at TE. He has good hands and size.

That score is definitely a surprise! Congrats to the Colonels! Beechwood beat Dixie last week and lost in the last second to them in week one but Highlands tromped Beechwood. So I expected Highlands to have no problem with Dixie. This score has me looking forward to Beechwood's rematch with Highlands next Saturday, as well as their rubber match with Dixie's JV the week after.

Who were the Qb's for both teams?

Could they bring McCoy up from the frosh to play jv?? I really don't see New's future at qb..:idunno:

So Raleigh is 32, who is #52?

Raleigh is the one that is looking at schools like Centre and Hanover and such right?

I do not know who Raleigh is looking at. He is a 3 year starter on defense for Dixie. I believe 52 is Evan Schulte. He is currently the center since Zumdick, the starting LT, is hurt.

Glad to see Ian McGurn get into the endzone. I see him working extremely hard during practice on the scout offense and defense. Good to see him rewarded in the JV game.

As in the same Pike that started Friday night at outside linebacker....
