UK Quarterback situation

Featured Replies

Whether players are saying it or not, and it's likely that some have at least hinted that something needs to change, UK definitely needs to do something at the QB position.

How Mike Hartline is a starting SEC QB i'll never know. He hasn't improved, as Rich Brooks has stated. If anything, he has gotten worse IMO.

If this means that Cobb needs to step in at QB then so be it. We have better WR's this year anyway. He is a playmaker, Hartline is not. Something needs to be addressed because Hartline and his inability to make smart decisions in the pocket are killing this Kentucky team.

Hartline is terrible. But, I do not see anyone who can step in today and make UK a better football team. Do you guys think that maybe Morgan Newton may be a good enough of an athlete to be a dual threat guy right now? That would be the only other direction, because I think that Fidler would give you less than Hartline because of inexperience.

I called it a month ago that UK was in trouble with Hartline, their d-line, and their kicking game and no one listened to me.

We listened. We just didn't want to give you credit.

Hartline is Kentucky's third string quarterback.

Bill Stull has completed 70% of his passes for Pitt -- six touchdowns to just one INT.

Curtis Pulley is the three-time MEAC Player of the Week at Florida A&M. 24-of-34 for 315 yards and two touchdowns in their win over Tennessee State tonight.

UK couldn't keep Pulley after multiple legal issues...

I'm not saying they should have. I'm just saying Hartline wasn't envisoned as their man three to four years ago

I felt this way going into the season. I like the kid but he's not the answer IMO. Everything I've heard close says that Newton isn't ready. My feelings on that is unless they are going to redshirt him you never know until you put him in the game. If they are redshirting him then that's fine but if not he should have come in during mop up tonight. Fidler isn't the answer. I hate to see Cobb have to move but right now that looks like their best shot because at least they will be forced to put the ball in Cobbs hands more! He is their best player and they have to get him the rock to have a chance!

I totally agree with that...

Florida is pretty darn good, lets not throw Hartline under the wagon yet. He did bring us back against Louisville, after shaking off 2 turnovers. Fidler isn't very good and the Freshman are young and not ready.

Really, your going to make your argument with a win over Tennessee State? In that case, Hartline vs Miami Ohio - 18/22, 222, 2TD's. And who has Pitt played? They've barely had a JV schedule. Youngstown ST, Buffalo, Navy, and NC St.

I am not arguing for Hartline because I think he is terrible but come on.

Hartline is the Michael Porter of the football team. He was probably never meant to be a starter, but that's how the cards ended up.

Hartline is a less than average college quarterback, he would fit in at Georgetown, but again that is a stretch.
