Was that necessary? I said if I was wrong I'd come back and eat my crow, I don't think that requires being called out. I was wrong, not the first time certainly won't be the last. I still don't think VT is that good, but obviously they are better than Miami. Just how bad is the ACC?

But be sure FCT the very next time you are wrong about anything at all, I'll be the first to point it out. As for the game, I haven't watched it yet as I was at UF's beatdown of UK. I would guess from the little bit that I caught on the radio that it was a total domination by VT. What can you say? Beamer always has his teams ready for Miami, their defense must have returned from vacation. He used this game as a way to get back into the title picture, and for the moment with the recent developments VT is back in it.

Two things killed Miami in a domino sort of effect. Rain was number one they couldn't hold onto the ball which caused bad passes/turnovers/fumbles/snaps/. That bieng said, proceeded with Miami bieng young and down in Blacksburg. I'm not making excuses for the Canes I don't even really like Miami. But if this game was played in dry weather hokies win 24-21.

When you make blanket statements:

 

The only way Miami gets beat is if they are overconfident. Virginia Tech is bad on both sides of the ball, and simply cannot score enough to beat Miami, if the Canes take care of the ball. Lane stadium is probably worth 7-10 points, but that at the Hokie offense might give you 20 points. That isn't going to beat Miami, especially with VT's defense.

 

with little history, stats or probability to back them up, they can bite back. I've been to Tech too many times and seen how Lane stadium changes that team. (Too bad the same can't be said for UK)

 

As to the game, the weather was a huge factor but as they say, "Both of them played in the same stuff." Tech rushed for 272 yards while holding Miami to a total of 209. The difference was up front and the defense scheme that totally messed with Miami's mind early on. Couple that with the usual Beamer ball and it wasn't close.

 

Miami is on the upswing, but still has some work to do. The first two wins were great but not looking nearly as impressive after today (see FSU's humbling loss).

 

As to Tech being in the "hunt," only for an ACC title. They are nowhere near ready for the National hunt and that is because the ACC is just that bad of a conference right now.

I'd say the ACC is about as bad as the SEC this year. Neither appear to be that strong to me. Maybe it's just some parity in college football I guess.

Like being brought into a thread I hadn't even responded in? I showed up here, admitted I was wrong about the game which is more than I can say for most.

 

You won't get any excuses from me. The better team won yesterday. The team with the better game plan won. Miami is overrated and if it were up to me we would drop out of top 25 after yesterday, though that's not going to happen probably.

 

Tech threw 9 passes that is pathetic that they could run away with the game. 9 passes! Load up and stop the run. Stopping the run is about want to, and its pathetic to let a team that is that one sided just have a field day.

Well I did think that Miami looked legit in the first two weeks, but who knows about their opponents. This has been a crazy 4 weeks of football. My statements were made with the same idea of your last sentence.

 

VT still isn't that good. I was fooled into think MY TEAM, Miami was. But so was the rest of the country pretty much.

 

I'm just disappointed. A legit team beats VT, were just not ready for the big time.

I percieve it as no team in the ACC is a legit title contender. I think that there are a few teams that are capable of putting it together for a few games and playing with almost any team. I would be surprised if any team in the ACC ends up with fewer than two losses.
