B/c when the St. X game was still in doubt, and you put your next best option in, #8 was put into the game. This is a perfect time for #8 to take over. He's surrounded by studs, a great defense, and a great offensive line. All he has to do is hand it off and complete 7-8 passes per game, and Highlands wins each game he QBs. It gets the jitters out of his system and gets him ready for next year, as he's getting meaningful minutes in meaningful games. I hope for Bardo's sake that this isn't a major injury, but for right now, Highlands appears to be in good hands.

 

Good point, if it comes down to it I have confidence in anyone Coach Mueller puts out there. Shoot, if they struggle just throw AC back there with the other running backs and run the Wildcat offense.

I'm not sure but it might have been right after this. He currently attends NKU and is good friends with my son.

Highlands will be on a mission this Friday and quite frankly Dixie probably couldn't have caught them at a worse time. Will Bardo's performance in the St. X game will be very inspirational to this team and they'll demonstrate it Friday night. Highlands in a big way over Dixie.

How can this possibly be the worst time? As TOG mentioned, this is probably the best time for anyone to play Highlands. They're coming off an emotional high, plus they lost their starting QB. Generally, the best times to catch a team off guard are the week before a huge game (overlooking) and the week after a huge, emotional win. I'm not saying Dixie is going to win, I'm just saying that this is probably the best week for someone to knock off Highlands.

Smart move on their behalf. Let Dixie and future opponents wonder who is going to play QB as long as possible.

Now onto this game. Enough of the national ranking stuff and the X win stuff. Time to focus on Dixie and fast. Wilson is the real deal at QB. He can burn you with his arm and his legs. Haggerty is a great duo with Wilson. Klei is in my opinion, a very talented running back. As good as Elliott perhaps not in some folks opinion, but still good enough to break tackles and pick up big yards. And their O line is another big line that we'll have to face. We looked good against X's big O line, and while Dixie's isn't as good or as big as X's, if we don't take Dixie's O line seriously, we could be in trouble. This will be another big test for Highlands D. If they play like they did against X, we'll be fine. If we show up with a case of the big head, Dixie will score a lot of points.

 

Defensively, Dixie doesn't appear to be as strong as they are offensively. But like with our D, if our O has the big head and thinks that because they moved the ball well against X, they can just show up, they will be sadly mistaken. IF Bardo doesn't play, the O line is really going to have to dominate to take passing pressure off of Towles or Seidl at the qb position. Again if Bardo doesn't play, then Dixie is going to load the box big time and try and force the back up qb to win the game.

 

With Bardo perhaps not playing and Dixie hoping the Highlands kids are over looking them and not respecting them, I think we'll see a very fired up Dixie squad. I can almost hear Tom's pregame speech. If Highlands beating X was the best win for Higlands program, then Dixie upsetting Highlands would surely be the best win for Dixie's program.

 

If the Birds practice hard this entire week, are extremely focused and show up and play to the best of their abilities, then we should be fine. If they don't, the luster of the X win will be severely tarnished.

Highlands 35 - 6. Run, run, run all night no matter who is at QB, which I hope its not Will because this game shouldn't be close enough to risk any further injuries. Heck, through Austin back there at QB and run the wildcat! You've got three high quality running backs to work with.

 

In all seriousness, put Towles back there if you think he's going to start next year, which IMO he will. Let your RBs and your defense be the heart and soul of this game though. Grind it out smashmouth style with a few inevitable huge rushing plays.
