After watching the Birds practice yesterday, I like what I saw and I like what i didn't see. One, they seemed focused as usual and working hard. The practice was spirited and all business. Two, there didn't seem to be a St. X glory effect on their approach to practice. I think this may have to do with the coaches pointing out mistakes during the St. X game. As we all know, coaches have away of bringing players down a few notches during tape reviews.

For a Bluebird victory over St. X I believed they needed to tackle better and hold on to the ball. The tackled as good as I've seen a Highlands team tackle against St. X, but they need to do a better job of handling the football. This is a very good Bluebird team that is undefeated without putting together their best all around game (IMO). I think they realized their potential on defense last Friday and will build on that. I look for Highlands to win by 3 or 4 touchdowns. Dixie can be dangerous if you let them hang around too long.

Great to hear. With the team being on a mission to beat X, go undefeated and win state, I'm not surprised. I'm also not surprised due to the coaching staff at Highlands. I heard that the coaches got on the offense pretty heavily in tape review about red zone production. We have to do better than we did against X if the team wants to accomplish all of their mission. Stay focused on one win at a time and on the upcoming team. What you accomplished last week doesn't matter this week. :thumb:

I think you're overreacting quite a bit. He/she said nothing wrong, and if he/she is wrong then so what? It may throw your opponent off, because that is what rumors are good for; playing with peoples minds. If it is true, than good, that means Bardo is better off than I suspect and I'd like to see him back out there. But all the quick reaction, hush hush and attitude surrounding it is only making things worse, not better in the way of "rumors" and speculation. Sure makes it seem like theres something people don't want everyone to know...

 

As for the game, Highlands wins this big and this will solidify their #1 spot in the district. Dixie and Covcath are both a couple of steps behind...

From what John has told me, the family preferred that there no be a lot of speculation about whether Will would or would not need surgery on here. When they want something released on those lines, they or Dale would release it through the paper. I'll see John in about 15 minutes and will see if that's still the case.

Believe it or not, people care when a player gets hurt, especially one as talented as Bardo and NO ONE likes to see that happen, not even their opponents would wish that on another player - bad KARMA! People want to know he's OK as fans!

 

When Michael Robinson, a Cov Cath player, got seriously hurt in the summer, people just wanted to make sure he was ok - kids on other teams played baseball and basketball with him, know the family and really cared what happened to him and wanted to wish him well.

 

Non-Highlands fans can respect the Highland's program, know that the Birds winning over X is a great accomplishment for Northern KY football, but when there's thread after thread simultaneously running about YEA HIGHLANDS, WE ARE NO 1!!!!!!
