Moves Cowboys should have made?

Featured Replies

Should have gotten Mike Shanahan to coach this team in the off season. Tony Romo will never get this team into the playoffs, I thought they should have went after Matt Cassel in free agency or Micheal Vick after his release from prison, Romo is just a high paid backup, was a big mistake to have given him all that money, which falls back on the owner(JJ), who should also go,ala Mike Brown. Dallas will never get into the playoffs with him in control and could have a losing record this season.

I agree with the Shanahan and Vick signings. I thought with Vick and Felix Jones in the Wildcatc together that it could be pretty dangerous. Also, with Shanahan's history of dominating run with so many backs, he would thrive in Dallas with that set of backs and that is what Dallas needs to do is run the ball. Should have also made the move for some secondary hope, a corner and saftety upgrade is needed IMO.

That seems a tad harsh. I am going to guess that Jones' record as an owner is slightly better than Mikey Boy's.

I like Shannahan for sure. Not ready to pack it up though. They beat the Giants if they keep running the ball or don't get a couole of fluke breaks. Barber averaged 7 yds a carry and Jones 13! That's unheard of in the NFL much less against the Giants!

The Cowboys aren't going to hire a big name coach or ANY coach for that matter that isn't already on the staff. Wade Phillips is going to stick around until JJ decides it's time to give Jason Garrett the job.

If Romo could stay consistent he's a top 7 or so quarterback in the league, IMO. He just makes some of the dumbest plays you could imagine.

This team will never win with Romo under center. I hope Dallas fans are starting to realize that.

I still have faith in Romo. He played really well 1st game and stunk this one. This might be the best thing that could happen to Dallas...force them to lean on the run game more which should have been the plan already!

Romo is a fine QB, he is maturing. He has only been under center in the spotlight for a few years, he does nothing but plays hard and will win games for the Cowboys; this from a Bronco fan. If they had hired Shanahann, I would've been an instant fan.

They should just not let Romo touch the football and snap it directly to Jones or Barber.

Dallas will have a losing season? I don't see that one happening...

It's early. The Cowboys are 1-1. Romo (and the rest of the offense) is adjusting to life without TO. They'll get better. I was very impressed with Dallas last night. When is the last time the NY Giants got physically whipped for 60 minutes?

I didn't see the Giants get physically whipped for 60 minutes last night. They got beat in the running game, yes, but physically whipped? Not hardly.

Sure they did. You didn't see it, but everyone else did. :thumb:
