How is Washington ranked!?

I think they look a little over-rated. I don't see them scoring enough to beat Bama this season and I don't think they'll get to the SEC title to play UF. I think they were a little overrated last year as well. I think they end up losing 3 or 4.

 

Last year they were a different team at the end of the season than the beginning. All 4 of their losses were in the first 7 games and they finished on a 6 game winning streak. Beating LSU by 18 in Baton Rouge and Beating Texas Tech by 2 TD's in the cotton bowl. They also get Bama and LSU at home this year while @ South Carolina this Thursday is their toughest SEC road game. They also don't play UF or UGA from the east. They may not be number four but they have the schedule to win the SEC West and as they proved last year, they aren't scared of Tebow.

 

They are also averaging 48.5 points a game this season so far.

Starting to look like a more traditional poll with the exception of a few.

I see all of that, I just think it's a little over inflated and looks better on paper than it was. LSU was pathetic during the regular season, Lee and Hatch were the two worst QB's in college football last season. Texas Tech shouldn't really count. Had they not had one really lucky play no one would have them as a really, really, quality win as Oklahoma proved they were a fraud.

 

Ole Miss is a good team but not an elite team. I really don't think 48.5 points per game is that impressive versus two "JV"squads.

By whom? I know I agrued with you on the overrated as program statement you made. I won't agrue with them being overrated as a team this year though. I mean I even made the statement that they were overrated this year even after they beat OSU. They are still a good team this year, but at this point of the year they are not one of the best in the country. They probably will end up losing a few more this year. This year IMO is the year that someone else will end up winning the PAC 10 and it probably will be CAL.

They could very well, but with thier schedule I don't see them losing more than two games. So with one loss that could put them right in the mix at the end of the year. With the huge taget on UF and 'Bama's back it they could fly in under the radar. All I'm saying is they could be set up very nicely at the end of the year.

This day and age, you just cannot "reload" every year and be a contender. USC still wins 9-11 games this season, but they don't have the QB play right now to be a legit title threat. Every team hits this, I for one was crazy to think that USC could be so inexperience at QB and just out talent everyone at all the other positions.

Considering in the two games Snead, McCluster, and Brandon Bolden have all only seen 2 fourth quarter series this season, and both of them were against Memphis, they only played half the third quarter in the previous game 48.5 points (first in the SEC) is fine with me. I think you underestimate Ole Miss, they may not truly be a top 5 team but they belong in the top 10 as much as anyone right now, and they have the schedule that could produce a 12-0 season. 10-2 or 11-1 is more likely but look at the schedule with Alabama and LSU at home there is not one game on their schedule you can look at and say WOW Ole Miss has no shot in that game.

I'm just pointing out the fact that though 48 ppg. looks impressive the average observer has nothing to be impressed about with Ole Miss so far. Last season I think they made their name off of a slightly over-regarded SEC. SEC is a great conference, but outside of UF they beat no one of any significance when it comes to last season. Texas Tech is a joke and that bowl win was what an SEC team should do to the one-dimensional Red Raiders.

 

I know that they were sick, but the Memphis game left much to be desired, and you really cannot take anything out of a game against whatever pitiful directional school they played last week.

 

I take it you're an Ole Miss fan? As for the schedule I'll say they definitely lose to Bama and LSU, and get beat by an unranked SEC club. I think they really snuck up on some people last year and this year it will not be the case. I think they are going to run into some teams that they are going to struggle to score very many points on this season. I could be wrong or over reacting, but I think people really overreacted to what they did last season. In their final 6 games the beat Arkansas (5-7 with a horrible, horrible QB), Auburn (worst 5-7 team of alltime), UL Monroe (do I need to say more?), the Worst LSU team of the last few years, Miss. St (4 wins), and Texas Tech. While that is impressive to beat those teams because it is the SEC it's not like they took down any and everyone. Yes, the beat UF, but at that time UF was still searching for an offensive identity, and I think we all realize that the Gator team that came out of that game was easily 3 TD's better than Ole Miss. I really like Snead, but he is a little bit interception prone. I think their final ranking will be some where in the 13-25 range at best.

 

Other than Virginia Tech, I think they are the biggest pretender of the preseason MNC candidates (I didn't count OSU or OK State as I really, really, thought they had zero shot at the MNC).

I mean I can live with someone saying Bama, I still think we have a legit shot since Bama is coming here, and with our stadium sold out for every game this year to season ticket holders we won't have many Bammers in the stadium. But what about LSU makes you think they will definitely beat Ole Miss in Oxford? I mean Ole Miss murdered them last year and Jefferson was the QB that played in that game not Hatch. LSU has done nothing to impress me they struggled with Washington and Vanderbilt. While Washington appears better than we thought that week, Vanderbilt now appears worse. No doubt about that, he is a good QB. And I think LSU is slowly starting to get it together. I think they will have better QB play this season, though it's still not great. I don't know, I just don't think Nutt is that great of a coach. I mean did he take Arkansas to the SEC title game or did MacFadden and Jones and Co. take him? I just think he always finds away to lose a few here and there.
