Florida has some holes that can, and might, be exploited by teams with more talented athletes.

Florida is still what we thought they were, UT is still what we thought they were. They did however play that game as well as they could've. Not a great game to watch, but hard played.

Give the Vols credit kept to their game plan and kept the game close. Florida needs to come up with wideouts who can stretch the field to be the offense they were last year but with Tebow and their defense they will still be hard to beat. GO GATORS.

Great job by Kiffin to keep UT in the game. However, when UT was down 23-6 I was very suprised that he didn't open it up a little more. UT is not going to win 6 games and get to a bowl this year if they keep running away from their own QB. Crompton only made two bad decisions (that I can think of [iNT, Throwing into double coverage over the middle which was just dropped]) the entire game.

 

My bet is that they didn't open it up because Crompton is horrible. He didn't make TOO many bad decisions because they weren't putting him in the situation to make them.

Agreed, but as a coach you can't just run from the fact that you have a weak QB, especially in situations like that. Noone is going to think badly of Kiffin if he opens it up there in the late 3rd - 4th quarter. Even if you are afraid of what Crompton might do, you got to give your team a fighting chance to win.

 

You have to think that some blue chip is sitting on his couch watching that game and is thinking, "man I could go right in to Tennessee and start as a true Freshman at a flagship school in the SEC." Honestly, a mid level recruit could start there over Crompton. Also, if Crompton is better than Nick Stevens, how the heck did that kid ever get a full ride to a D-1 school, much less Tennessee?

6'7" Tyler Bray out of California has verbally committed to play for the Vols next season. He has not been highly recruited but that is likely due to the fact that he didn't do the camp circuit until this season. He appeared to be very competent a the Elite Eleven Camp this summer. Still, he will be a freshman next season, so he has a lot of growing to do.

I liked the Vols play in this game. They played tough in the Swamp. Most people thought Tebow would have a much better game than he did along with a 30 point spread. But no Rocky Top for Mr. Kiffin like he said in December.

Would of loved to see it a little more spread out, this game was too close.....

I will admit, I thought this would be a blowout, but I think Kiffin and his staff-particularly Monte-called as good a game as you can. I'm really impressed with Monterio Hardesty this season and if Tennessee had a Quarterback worthy of the Scholarship he was given, Tennessee could have won that game.

 

I am worried a bit about Florida, the defensive line got zero pressure yesterday, Dunlap and Marsh are supposed to be first round picks, but if you were going off of yesterday's performance, they aren't getting taken in the first day. I was impressed with the secondary coming up and making tackles in the backfield, I'm wondering though where Brandon Spikes has been so far this season, I've watched every down of their three games and haven't heard his name called as much. It's critical that Florida find a receiver that can stretch the field, that is the one part of their game that I think must improve, but also, they may not have just shown everything they have yet-we usually see a new formation/play/package from UF every significant game they play-but I hope they can address the receiving corps issue soon. There are a couple of things I'd like to say about this in game in closing:

 

1. Lane Kiffin's a jerk, he runs his mouth, but he's a good football coach, he and his coaches had them ready to play, and they played UF closer than any other team has in the past two years apart from Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami and Oklahoma. To play UF that close leaning completely on your running game and defense is impressive.

 

2. I think we see six wins from Tennessee this season, they could possibly win more, but Jonathan Crompton is the worst quarterback in the country. And sorry UK fans, but I don't think the streak snaps this year against UT.

 

3. Every season it seems that Florida starts slow on offense, but by the fourth or fifth game they seem to find their stride, I think that is the case this season; Urban is the best coach in the country at getting everything out of his players and I don't think UF will play that poorly on offense again this year.

You can find a lot of stuff on him on Scout, Rivals and ESPN, some of it may be premium though. I watched the special on the Elite 11 camp this year and he and Blake Bell-headed to Oklahoma-looked the best.
