I looked for some highlights of him on youtube but I couldn't find any.

 

As I said, he hasn't been talked about much because he only started the camp circuit this past summer. Look up the Elite Eleven Camp. That is pretty much the only highlights you'll see of him. He's very tall and has good mechanics for a tall guy. He needs to put on some weight as he only weighs 200 lbs (at best). I like Jon Crompton's tenacity, but you can take that and $1.00 and buy a US Today tomorrow morning. He can't play at the D1 level. That is really a shame as he was one of the top 3 QB's in the rankings (5 star by both Scout and Rivals). That just proves what those stars are really worth - not as much as they seem to get credit for.

i watched him on ESPU at the Elite 11 camp. He can be good, but if he has to start next year, there will be problems. He is a good long term solution, but not a Frosh star IMO.

I will admit, I thought this would be a blowout, but I think Kiffin and his staff-particularly Monte-called as good a game as you can. I'm really impressed with Monterio Hardesty this season and if Tennessee had a Quarterback worthy of the Scholarship he was given, Tennessee could have won that game.

 

I am worried a bit about Florida, the defensive line got zero pressure yesterday, Dunlap and Marsh are supposed to be first round picks, but if you were going off of yesterday's performance, they aren't getting taken in the first day. I was impressed with the secondary coming up and making tackles in the backfield, I'm wondering though where Brandon Spikes has been so far this season, I've watched every down of their three games and haven't heard his name called as much. It's critical that Florida find a receiver that can stretch the field, that is the one part of their game that I think must improve, but also, they may not have just shown everything they have yet-we usually see a new formation/play/package from UF every significant game they play-but I hope they can address the receiving corps issue soon. There are a couple of things I'd like to say about this in game in closing:

 

1. Lane Kiffin's a jerk, he runs his mouth, but he's a good football coach, he and his coaches had them ready to play, and they played UF closer than any other team has in the past two years apart from Alabama, Ole Miss, Miami and Oklahoma. To play UF that close leaning completely on your running game and defense is impressive.

 

2. I think we see six wins from Tennessee this season, they could possibly win more, but Jonathan Crompton is the worst quarterback in the country. And sorry UK fans, but I don't think the streak snaps this year against UT.

 

3. Every season it seems that Florida starts slow on offense, but by the fourth or fifth game they seem to find their stride, I think that is the case this season; Urban is the best coach in the country at getting everything out of his players and I don't think UF will play that poorly on offense again this year.

I do too, but there's always room for improvement. Hardesty's the best running back in the SEC.

Since you are a diehard fan I thought you'd know more about your Gators. Spikes has been hurt. He's not been healthy all season. He spent a large portion of the 2nd half on the sideline icing his achilles tendon. He's had tendonitis in it all season.

Me neither actually. Remember I'm the biggest Gator-loather on this board. I'm a Canes guy, and have no love for UF.

 

I do think that Kiffin should have had a little more of an aggressive plan. Don't get me wrong he coached a heck of a game, maybe some trick play or something to try to get into the redzone. With two TD's instead of FG's they might have made UF sweat.

 

I'm just really enjoy the strategical side of football, and the chess match that coaches play. I cannot stand to see any team not give themselves a chance to win the game just in the sake of keeping it close. A loss is a loss, so why not take some chances and try to win the game? I think that Tennesse nearly had a complete game plan to beat UF, the were just missing ways to attack through the air. The defense and run game played well enough to have a chance to win the game, IMO. I'm a real nerd. I'll be breaking down the tape of that game trying to see exactly what Tennessee was doing, because that is about as successful as anyone has ran on UF considering that UT didn't have a passing game.

This has quickly turned into the most heated rivalry in the SEC.

 

Kiffin took a shot at the Gators for talking about their players having the flu and, in Kiffin's mind,using that as an excuse for not whipping the Vols.
