And I get it, walks like a duck etc etc. I get it's poorly ran. I get they need major changes. But it IS the biggest bunch of fair weather fans. In 2005 all I heard was how amazing this team was, and how awesome the Bengals were, how great CP was and Johnson etc and the organization was on the up. And now..lol.

 

And for the record, CP has seen his best days. He just isn't that great of a QB. Face it people. He isn't bad, he isn't good..he's middle of the road. And he's injury prone.

Before I argued that, but now I think it would be smart. I mean we have seen people before leave Cincy and then do great. If he was in a different system, then I think we would see the same with him. He plays on a team whose offense is so predictable, their offense coordinator has lost it. The offense has gone completely stale, and yet the Bengals still try to keep running the exact same stuff as they did in 2005. They seemed to think that well if they run the ball more, then it would help. However it does not, the players on the offense are going to have a hard time doing good with the offense that this team runs. They need a new offensive coordinator in town.

Well someone's got to do it. It won't be alligator arms Ocho and Coles - even if he were that type of WR - apparently couldn't catch it anyways. TJ's ability to go over the middle was what made the Bengal's passing game so effective.

 

I thought Chad did a good job (at least yesterday) going across the middle. Hopefully he keeps it up. As far as Coles, i will chalk it up as a bad game before i make judgement on him.

I do agree there. If he stays in this same system with the same offense we be running, then I do agree that I think we will never see him be great. I mean the Bengals blew it in the off season by not getting rid of the Brat. I mean has any team in the NFL had an offensive coordinator as long as the Bengals right now? If people remember Bratkowski was the offensive coordinator when Dick Lebeau was coach. So he has been here for awhile, so everyone knows exactly what the Bengals do on offense.

I meant to comment on this too. You are right Cincy does have some of the worst fans and especially tons of fair weather fans. I mean I been a Bengal fan my whole life, and so I haven't seen to many winning seasons or good teams at all. However I am a fan and no matter what I am going to cheer them on, and support them through the good times and the bad. Even though it has been mostly bad. It was funny how all kinds of people came out of nowhere saying they were Bengal fans when they were good in 2005. However if your not going to support the team when they are down, then don't support them when they are good either. Just go find another team that you do like how things are ran or whatever.

More like after 15 years of being the laughingstock of the league people were finally able to get behind a winner. If only it lasted more than one fleeting season...

I've lived here forever. I saw Paul Brown shape and mold an expansion team into a competitve franchise. I've seen them play at Nippert. I've seen Greg Cook, Virgil Carter, The Throwin Samoan, Kenny Anderson, Turk Schonert, Boomer Esiason, shall I go on? How about Essex Johnson, Paul Robinson, Archie Griffin, Pete Johnson, Ickey Woods, Jame Brooks. Ever heard of those guys? I've seen them win 10 home games in one season. I've seen them go to two Super Bowls. I've seen Paul Brown's son take over and completely ruin the franchise. What have you seen?? 1 winning season, with no playoff victories. How long does a fan accept crap, and keep rooting for it? How long do you faithfully trudge down to the "jungle" put down hundreds of bucks to watch what is so predictably bad it's hysterical. How long?

You're older than I, but I share the same sentiment. I am & always will be a Bengals fan, but it is so frustrating & can be brutal to watch.

I agree with this. He's not bad by any means, but he isn't elite. He needs to have a stellar offensive line in front of him and there just aren't many of those in the NFL - and certainly not in Cincinnati. He's a poor scrambler and his accuracy is only average. Ultimately, he's not the reason the Bengals' offense has been, and likely will continue to be, woeful, but he's not the type of QB to raise them to the next level either.
